One of the nice things abt lebanon is the abundance of mountain roads with little traffic and even less presence of the police. We have some gr8 mountain roads where if at the right time and in a powerful car u can easily do insane speeds. Thou i dont recommend at all. |

Oh boy Jay...as u described the road i felt i was just in there lol.
AMG C32 Vs C36 (Alain old one) Vs Ur C36....i cant wait to get back to lebanon. The guy that bought Alain's C36 claims faster than a C32 on a straight. Havent driven a C36 before but now u did so?? |
Far slower Chlippo, the c36 really lacks that shove of the C32 AMG in the low down.
To really feel it moving you have keep it above 5000 RPM. ANy way i still think my AMG is slower than what it should be. i just dont care much now as i cant wait to see how the w124 turns out to be. i hope to have it make abt 360 hp. that would challenge the C32AMG. BTW if we are to go by magazine tests i say the C32 AMG is a good 3 to 4 sec faster from 0 to 100 mph run than the C36. and my W124 TT setup some 2 to 3 secs faster than the C36 Chlippo i know you know that stretch of road very very well, when u get here i would love to try with that c36. |
god knows whats in that C36 man...i recall it had nitrous, then it was off, then it had headgasket blowed, then they say it had a larger crank? you might know more than i do about that C36, i think it had a timing advance controlled from the inside... now the guy claims more than 300 hp but...no proof
|
Chlippo i cant really say, i know its had its share of abuse and i wouldn't wont to own it even if it was over 300 hp.
I have driven a few C36s before and those cars are very sensitive to proper up keeping or else they wont deliver full power. meaning to say cars will differ gr8tly from each other. Like mine now on part throttle feels like its leaning out, i need to get it checked the coming few days. |
the handling on this AMG is really nice, some how merc makes the best ABS. Usally in most cars you if want to take a car to its handling limits you have to turn the ABS off, yet in all the mercs i have driven the ABS lets you late brake late in to a corner and lets the car slide the rear on corner entry without stoping the fun and killing mid way.

Obviously I am enjoying this AMG :P thou it lacks the power of the boosted w124 and the elegance of that car’s interior, but the handling is good enough to make up for it.
But still work needs to be done on a few things, like the kickdown switch sometimes stops working and when that happens the car develops some sort of hesitation when going thru the revs. have replaced the switch yet the issue remains. Have checked the valve in the gearbox and that seems fine as well, so it seems I have a wire that’s cutting some place due to vibrations. And if this is the case this might explain the cause of the hesitation when accelerating. Any way still working on it. |
Enjoying the thread Jay!

LOOKING GOOD !!! |
thanx guys,
Eric man u have to get ur self one of those, Ed no need to say it u know exactly what am talking abt. Car is such a good drive, and i know a C32 is prolly faster and better equipped. But the 36 AMG is just too connected and that on roads like the ones we have here is the sweet spot. http://img230.imageshack.us/img230/9...5photo2657.jpg http://img515.imageshack.us/img515/1...5photo2656.jpg http://img413.imageshack.us/img413/3...5photo2655.jpg http://img230.imageshack.us/img230/8...5photo2654.jpg |
