Should I buy this 2002 E55?

I have found a 2002 E55 with 44K miles. I had the owner take it in for a pre-purchase inspection and the shop found a long list of items needing attention. The list includes Front Lower Control Arm Bushings, Upper Oil Pan Gasket, Reseal Right Upper Valve Cover, Both Engine Mounts, Rear Crankshaft Seal. The owner has a 3rd party warrenty that will cover all the items mentioned and the Mercedes dealer doing the repair. The owner told me that he had the MAF sensor replaced about 4 months ago and the passenger rear window regulator replaced about 2 months ago. Does this sound like a lemon or just a standard E55 nearing 45K miles? We agreed on the price of $17,300 prior to the inspection. Should I walk away from it or let the work be done and purchase the car?

What it sounds like is the mb tech found a leak in the rear of the pan and decided to milk the warranty company. Motor mounts wearing out is pretty common in the v8 cars, the control arm bushings tend to wear quckly as well, I know mine were shot at 37K miles. None of those repairs are major or hard to do by any means so I'd say its an excellent car.

It depends how much you care about the mileage...the car isnt cheap but it isnt expensive if you consider the Miles. An AMG V8 engine can last .... maybe forever if its not beaten up every day. Bushings, lower arms... plenty of those thats a normal wear.
I can point to you to a similar car with some more mileage (70ies) verrry nice condition 2001 and you will save some cash. If you PM me i will send you the link anyways and you decide lol, it might be far from indiana
