New E 550---Torque Management ?

My Father told me today about his testdrive. He loved the car, but was not happy with the way it downshifted. I've driven his BMW 545, and when you nail it, it's accelerating hard almost before your foot hits the floor. My question is if the 550 has computer controlled Torque Management like GM cars, and can it be altered ? TIA

They all have torque management....even that BMW. Maybe there is another issue at play here.
Regards, Eric
