Clutch release bearing/pressure plate compatibility

Hi all,

I already posted this in the "Vintage Mercedes" section with no luck. May be performance versed folk will have the answer:

I recently purchased a V8 3.5 pressure plate on EBay. The picture advertising it was this one:

I also got a release bearing from another supplier p/n 0002506815 pictured below:

The pressure plate I received was not the same as the one pictured, as it has that additional contact surface with the release bearing compared with the advertised one:

I believe that type of pressure plate is an earlier model and may also have to work together with an earlier type of release bearing, as the one pictured below:

According to EPC, both the pressure plate (3rd picture) and release bearing (second picture) I received are correct part numbers for the 3.5, but as there are several p/n for each item, I wonder if that 'later type" release bearing would work with the "earlier type" pressure plate, or if I should ask the supplier to switch the pressure plate he sent me with the one he advertised.

Thanks!

Gael
