Hi guys. Guido I know again. Well I finally purchased the ASR

I'm not sure if this would be of any help...

...but I have the instructions from Renntech. If it's the same sort of contraption, then it may be applicable.

Here's a pic of the Renntech ASR defeat parts:

Here's an illustration of how it all connects:

And here's a copy of the instructions:

Hope that helps...

For cryin out loud, Guido, it's Ricky...R-I-C-K-Y! LOL

With that outta the way...

Renntech only came up with the instructions pictured. I made the illustration...which I sent to Renntech, so maybe they'll start shipping it with those, i dunno...

The ASR defeat will be installed *after* I deal with my engine harness problem. Don't want to stress the system any further until I find out what the #@&& is going on.

What's the part number of the harness you replace by the way (the one that connects to the temp sensor and temp sender)? Is it 124 440 20 06?

Would you know what 124 440 54 05 is?

ATTN Rick!

HaHA Ricky. I'm sooooooooo sorry. I get confused all the time.
I can find out the part no#. I don't know what the number is off hand. Rick when I replaced my harness. It was just going to the LH<the engine management computer. So the ASR wiring
harness is located underneath the can network. It wont interfer with the engine harness. You will have to remove the ASR control unit, To do the install for the defeat switch. The egine harness removal is eveything on top. The ASR will have to get from the bottom.. So its safe to installed the engine harness any time.
I m just soo dam confused with the ASR kit. It looks pretty cheap how its put together dont you think. I mean for the price.

Ricky do you have a chip in your car. I installed one my car flys now. It soo quick. I'm not going to install mine yet. Yu think you can take some digital pics of the install. That would be cool.

I'll get the no# for you tommorow. Guido

Guido,

I have been considering the defeat switch and a chip.

Let me know how the defeat switch installation goes.

what chip do you recommend?

ItalianBenz 11-22-2001 11:57 PM

Hi D I rec the chip from performance products . I'm running it in my 500E. It says just by installing it, it gives an addl 40 HP Well I installed it. My car kicks ass it bottom to midrangwe power is exceptional. It pulls all the way to 7000 PRMs i dont rec alsways winding it up that much but its there. Also if you install a tuned exhaust and set of K&N's also modifiy hte AIRbox. The same one brabus sells and renntech sells. I know the secret of there airbox and how they modify it. They sell the amn thing for like 900.00 what rip off!. Email me with your personal email I'll tell you what to do. But do purchase the chip its great. As for the ASR its a half ass setup from PAD I think I'm going to return it.

Good luck D email me if you need anything

Guido
