Come on, I don't think that there has to be such a heated debate of CIS vs EFI, both work and are just different ways to get the same thing done . Ed (RBYCC), yea some of as guys break things but that is because we like to experiment, it's called a hobby , I could have easily saved myself a lot of trouble with the ignition if I'd gone the proven route, but where is the fun in that ? I could have easily put a EDIS6 ignition, tuned the car at 10-12psi and stopped there, but I choose to test things , again for me this is a hobby, just a fun way to spend my free time. Just for the record we have converted turbo cars running megasquirt for more then 30000 miles without a glitch and still going very strong (hell even my car has covered more than 25000 km of hard driving with the current engine).

Well if that's not proof enough......I rest my case For the record. I was first introduced to mechanical injection when I owned my 944. Was great, sure. But we move on ED......doesn't mean you are less or EFI is more. At least on this topic, can we agree to disagree for crying out loud

Lets move on to 'constructive' advice ..............

Just realised today guys. Been 3 months since the donor engine came out of a running car & delivered to the workshop. So basically, engine hasn't been turned over @ all. It still sits upside down with sump off for about a month due to block needing tapping for oil return line.

This is why I can't stand workshops. You accept that their busy. You book car in when it suits THEM. Once it's there. They complain that their busy now & you get farked around as they do a little here & a little there.

I hate engines sitting around. Especially this one. No coolant running through head. No oil moved around the block etc.

Really over these pricks Long for the day I can here the thing running @ least.

....and to top it off they state they want the car outta there shop for the space.......excuse mwa? well hellooooo......

Well them to finish the ****ing job and your car will be gone... It's basically they making more money out of some one else so they're higher priority. That's just how a business works

Did front them Dearlove over a week ago. I think they were'nt convinced I would come up with the money. Even though I told them clearly it's ok.

The farkers would'nt admit to me this originally but they are scared of forking out on people's cars & not getting paid. ONLY when I payed them a deposit & then paid for the turbo & other parts did they take me serious & arrange parts to start coming in. It's just that they havn't done any basic mechanical work & fitting on the car yet. Farkin engines not even in.

There's only 2 of them & 1 other to help with ****. The fabrication guy is always running up the road to pick stuff up instead of getting on with welding work etc.

They've taken too much work on the pricks So work on mine is slow. Priority id to keep work coming in I understand that but why do they say they want my car gone etc when they have cars & crap lying around everywhere. You ask for something to be done & they just don't do it.

I know their experienced but too full of bull**** & taken too much on!

If I could've done the work myself mate I would have. You play fair & they take advantage of you. Isn't that like people?

Really pissed @ moment so sorry about rant but, it's nothing I have done

lsd for sure, turbo's are easy to keep control of, just be conscious of your right foot, they dont have any torque when they're not on boost

if you dont get an lsd, you'll find you can never get the power to the ground = slow car, beat by commodores, falcons...

Anyone else have any comment on whether to go LSD or not? The expense is something I have to consider. Dearlove makes a good point that under minimal boost in the wet, LSD should be OK. All the high powered cars I have owned in the past have had LSD's fitted. They do slide out in the wet easy but it seems a comfortable, controlled slide (if that makes sense?)

All the cars I've owned lately have been FWD so all your only concern here is 'torque-steer'. Not a big issue. RWD is obviously so different & so need advice........

go with LSD, a car with power and rwd with an open diff sucks, in handling and performance. and dont go flooring it in the wet. ur roads have much better grip than the tile smooth ones we have here, and my car was fine with LSD. that or am GOD at catchin the tail

Just cashed cheque yesterday after 4hr round trip to wreckers to pick it up Prick owed me $2100 since like 3 months ago. Wanted to give me a store credit haha

Toyed around & pushed him into a corner so he's eventually pay. This is the terd that sold me the 2 dodgy engines beginning back in January.

I'll be a little careful who I deal with & what background they have from now on. How these cnuts sleep @ night is beyond me. Lie to your face again & again At least now I have him outta my life the dog

Here's to moving forward yeeharrrrrrrr!!!!!!!!!

engine & box are in.....glad I'm not, like, in any hurry or anything Manifolds should be finished end of next week.

Hopefully I'll get some sneak pics If they haven't moved their asses by Friday week. I'm gonna pressure them for a finish date!

Btw, on another topic. LPI (injected LPG) is friggin awesome. Better economy & power! I'm realy impressed with my wife's 03' wagon mwe just purchased. It came with LPI fitted 2 years back. Very impressed! H'way use = 160kms for $5 3.8L commodore wagon sits @ 2000rpm @ 110kph (65mph?)

Here's a few sneak pics from workshop. Engine is in & inlet manifold being modified. Not much else but it's something Next week is devoted to the car. I told workshop I needed it within a month & then I'm stuck. We'll have to see how it fairs Hope to have a few decent pics next Friday. Here's hoping.......
