Custom Front and Rear Anti Sway Bar

I have 2 orders to make custom 18mm or 19mm rear sway bars for the W123 chassis.

I also have 1 request for a larger front sway bar, but I want to get the rears done before I look into the front.

While I am at it, it is just is easy to make 4 as it is 3, so if there is anyone that wants a bigger rear sway bar now is your chance. It is my understanding the MB is no longer making the heavy duty (15mm) bars.

These would be heat treated, and would come with urethane bushings / brackets and adaptors to mount the larger brackets to the chassis.

I may make them with adjustable link locations.

A guestimate price is $250.00 for the kit. (Links not included)

I just thought I would offer to share

I don't see why not.

I’ve got a 91 420sel, so I will take a look to see if there is anything crazy under there. I bet it is wider than the W123 and depending on the model of car you have, a larger dia bar may be needed.

Ill take a look at mine.

The orders I have are for sedan bars. I think I have read that the Wagon bar is different.

For the most part, I can duplicate any sway bar, rear or front. Each one will need its own tooling that will need to be set up to make each type of bar. If the bars are basically the same shape but wider or narrower they could be made with a minor addition in cost for a one off.

I have never been under a wagon to know what there is to work with as far as mounting and links go, or what the bar looks like, I would need a bar for each model to use as a pattern.

There is a yard within an hours drive that might have one of each bar that would be wanted.

Lets take a week or so and get a tally of what bars are wanted and how many of each will need to be made.

Perhaps someone could do a poll? Not sure how to do that. If anyone has a better idea to collect data feel free.

Ill add that to the list of bars of interest. For the front Correct?

Do you happen to have a picture of one?

Would you want a bigger bar for the rear as well?

Its really just a flat bar, But if possible I would like to put a little droop in the front section of it. For the moment I'm only interested in a front bar as I added and extra 200# of engine up front and I noticed the SL600 that the engine came out of has a 30mm bar. If anyone has any good tips on how to size a bar please pass them on.

I can duplicate any bar as long as I have the dimensions, it is best to have the stock bar to set up the bending fixture.

I can add or leave out bends, or droops to accommodate lowered cars or custom vehicle set ups. I just have to be able to get good dimensions to make the bending fixture.

Give me about about a week or two and I can make a sketch.

Up Date;

Almost ready to start bending 123 and 126 rear anti sway bars. I think I am going to use 1 inch bar stock, (25.4mm ish).

They are going to be pricier that I thought as the material prices have gone up since I last bought steel in any quantity. Price for each "KIT" is looking to be $375.00. The front bars, when I get to them, will cost more.

I am ordering enough material to make two extra rear bars than are already spoken for, (I'll make one for a 123, and one for a 126), as I am doubtful that many people will pay that much for a custom bar even though they are not available anywhere, but I could be wrong. I just can't afford to have money tied up in parts that I can't sell.

I'll post pictures when they are made.

I drove my V12 560SL 2 weeks ago through all the twisty turns of the Skyline drive, Blue Ridge parkway and Deals Gap. It handled quite nicely and stayed level with the stock 560SL bar despite the 200LB heavier engine. So for the moment I'm holding off on a 107 custom bar.

Thanks for the update
