AMGs?

Just wondering what drew you to an AMG to own one or more?

And what is it about them that keeps you as an AMG owner versus say an M3 or M5 BMW?

I find myself enamoured with the E-Class AMG of the W211 and W212s - especially the new W212 coupes. I am wondering what the advantages are to their ownership - from an AMG owner's perspective?

I have an Old AMG the 95 W202 C36, and i love it for it has good handling and enough power to allow me to play around with it on a track or a road i love. I didn't get an M3 for it lacks the relaxed nature of any AMG for when i want to relax or have a cross country drive.

Newer AMG are even much better in that respect, and even better when u feel like pushing them hard.

I'm not a new AMG lover as they tend to be a bit generic..
I prefer the older lower production models..

The only new ones that fit into that category are the G55K and any of the Black Series.

The lower production usually equates to less depreciation and eventual rise in price.
More collectable IMHO.

That's why I own an 05 G55K and an 08 CLK63 AMG Black Series.

I don't know how much more "street" race car you can get then the CLK63..
Most brutal car I've ever owned..
Makes you smile a lot..:D

That's insane !!!!

Jay

In the USA, the best "bang for your buck" in AMG's are the W211 E55's...
Low 30K range for MB certified pre owned...
They are very fast but a bit too "common" for this "cheeky" old guy...:P

You would love running up and down the hills local to you with the CLK63BS...
I just have straight, very flat two lane blacktop where I am...
Most curves are long sweepers as the area away from the coast is rural farmland..

Love to keep it in third gear in traffic, just to hear the popping from the exhaust as it decelerates..

Great seats, mould to your back..no movement at all..

IMHO it's a better choice value wise then the SLS..
Not to say the SLS isn't an incredible piece of automotive art !!! :D

Well I have a 1996 E36 AMG not the sharpest or most ferocious bite but it just fells right. I've owned so many cars including a few italian exotics and there is nothing better than a BENZ period. I and back that up by driving a 1971 Mercedes Benz 220d pickup daily with about 40hp at the wheels. I would rather driver the OLDEST, SLOWEST, ODDEST BENZ than a newer anything else take your pick....Somewhere in my tiny yard you'll see the best car I own my truck.
My E36 is the only AMG car I have ever owned. Its slow, does not handle worth a crap, fat chick heavy, but my love for that car borders on insanity.
Sits in a climate controlled garage in Los Angeles,CA which is totally absurd...
