ECU tuning tool??

Here it is

http://www.smelecom.com/pdf/ecutool/kwp2000plus.pdf

Now the question is...will this do any good?
I mean if we can read the map, modify it and then write it again that may help the car delivers some more hp (maybe not a lot but...)
I know "chipping" doesnt really exist in benz world but actually i cant see why wont that work.
And it would be helpfull for ppl going turbocharged, that would make the route easier
anyone have any experience or anything to note?

There is one place I saw, that you mail the cpu in.They re write program and over night it back to you for $89. I'd trust that over the chips, and they remove speed limiter.

It can't retune the ECU while it's still in the car. It will damage vital components of the car. Best bet is to pick up another ECU and bench tune it by powering up the ECU and hardwiring the kwp2000 in. Even then you have to identify the fuel maps through the hundreds of maps those ECU's have. There are better china copied tuning tools than the kwp2000 but they all require the ECU be tuned out of the car for the gas models. Also the kwp2000 doesn't support any of the gasoline powered Mercedes. I think the only china made ecu programmer than can read gas Mercedes ECUs is the Galletto 1260.

I got no problem getting a new ecu or taking out the one thats in the car, and i was asking about that because i saw in the product catalogue that it supports mercedes ecu's...thats why i am curious.
I dont have the link of the cataloue for the moment but i will post it here when i find it back. The version was kwp2000+ iirc.
I was willing to use it too for my audi S3 2001...i am still researchin it
what other products u mean?

The Galletto 1260 is one of the better china copied ones and the best OBD2 programmer on the market is called the Genie or Genesis Evolution. It is what all of the top tuners that don't have manufacturer specific computers use.

The Galletto is purely OBDII while the KWP2000 has the capability to look into pre-obd protocols. The KWP comes with a lot more hardware so it costs a little more.
