**** is still happening on this.
Enzo engine is back in. ![]() No bearing or rod bits in the sump yet. Maybe this engine will in fact be a runner? ![]() A bit of twisted fabricator humour.

This is turning into quite a project. I had no idea Toyota made a V12. I will have to spend my weekend reading this thread.

Bit of fuel system action.
Some sort of high flow Bosch pre surge pump. LS1 style surge tank with "returnless" system. 044 post surge pump. ![]() ![]() All this hides in the standard fuel pump spot and fits behind the factory cover. Neat, eh?

Coil packs mounted and custom leads being made. Al is starting to run some wires too. And removing a bunch from the old engine loom. Keen eyes will spot the Speedflow of the electrical world with judicious use of Deutsch connectors. My budget is copping an anal raping.
![]() An under shot. New half inch 100 series braided fuel line running up the opposite side of the car to standard. Keeps it away from the turbo gear once it hits the engine bay. ![]() With the likelihood that this thing is going to be consistently approaching corners on the track with a fair whack more speed than with previous powerplants, I decided to bite the bullet and pick up a different brake package. So I picked up this brake caliper package from an R129 SL600. V12 Merc brakes for a V12 Merc. These bolt on in the correct orientation and will run a 334x32 front rotor and 300x22 rear. So the rear is bigger than my previously planned front! Hopefully this, with some good pads, will give me the consistent brake performance I'll be wanting. I'll give them a lick of paint too. ![]() I also questioned the wisdom of using this car as a daily driver with such stiff suspension on our ****ty roads when I've got Jap wheels fitted with hubcentric rings and wobble bolts. Discretion being the better part of valour, I opted to pick up some Merc wheels again. These are 17x7.5 front and 17x8.5 rear from a W203 C32 AMG. I'll swap the 595RS-R tyres onto them when I get the car back from Al. ![]() If I can sort out something for the front bar to hide the cooler, hopefully from outside it'll just look like any old Merc with a set of wheels and some painted brakes and shouldn't draw too much unwanted attention. Except when it is 45 degrees to the road with the tyres on fire.................. |

Have you ever seen this?
This car came out when I was in high school but I remembered it and managed to find this Top Secret's Toyota Supra - V-12 Twin Turbo Newsletter - Super Street Magazine

Yep, have seen that car. For something that looks like it was intended to be a showpiece of Top Secret's, there's very little info and vids on it.
I visited the workshop on Tuesday. Plenty of work still going on, but mostly wiring at the moment so no good photos to show. |

So this thing is very close to starting - just awaiting some ECU configuration changes. Tick tock tick tock.
Work progresses nonetheless. Al got the tyres swapped on to the new wheels and mounted them up ![]() Throttle linkage in the works. Basically a cut down Z32 rod. ![]() Custom plug leads ![]() And more ![]() And another set of cock and balls

Rotors arrived today. Got unsprung weight much? Oh well, I am gonna need to stop out on the track. Repeatedly. From rapid speeds.
Front rotor vs Blackberry ![]() Front rotor (334 x 32) vs rear rotor (300 x 22) vs laptop ![]() Drilled rotors weren't my preferred my choice, but they only make these ones in drilled. But I'm told that the holes are created as part of the manufacturing process rather than post drilled so maybe they'll do alright without cracking? |

Not bad! I've got the same set-up going on mine - the front rotors and LCAs were shipped off from the US today, in fact.
Did you buy the front and rear calipers from Dave M? I'm still hunting down a pair of rear calipers... Might have Dave hunt down another set and post them for me. |

I am curious on the front wheels and tires on your coil overs. Are the offsets the same as the other ones? Are they stock wheels. Did you have to adjust the coil overs for the new engine?

Quote:
Was 17x8 et32 Now 17x7.5 et37 So the wheel moved 5mm closer to the strut, but it is 6mm narrower on each side. Same 215/45R17 tyre. I never had the M104 engine in the car with the coilovers. But I expect it will still be close to the mark. The V12 is all alloy. It weighs about 20kg less than a 2JZ. I expect an M104 weighs at least the same, maybe more than a 2JZ. The M104 is a big engine for its capacity. I've added extra weight with the turbo and intercooler, but I've also taken some weight out with removal of the ABS and A/C. I expect that all of that means the weight is near enough not to require any real significant changes to the spring rates. Proof will be in the driving though. |
