So how sick is the price? The colors are for sure pretty sick.

They're only about 10 miles away from my office, might have to go take a look-see...

70 grand I think, but they should knock off 20 grand for the color.

Interesting car. Went to the trouble of putting new panels below the headlights, with cutouts (presumably for ventilation) but still kept the stock headlights. Would have thought they'd spring for Euros at least. Wonder what make the tranny is.

Well, I wouldn't kick it out of the garage for eating crackers!

That is one sweet-looking ride. But I have to ask why the guy would drop all that cash into the car making it look distinctive and go like hell, and then have those awful black rubber floor mats in it for the pictures. Its all about the details.

As Chris W. pointed out, I wouldn't kick it out of my garage either.

The powertrain and exterior are gorgeous, but the interior looks like a mcdonalds play place. Why did they have to make it look so cheesy and cheap?

I spoke at length to the seller (he's an agent for the owner) last week.

They are ASKING $65K for the car. The car is registered in Idaho but is currently located in Texas.

Cheers,
Gerry

Holy Grail

I spoke to the current owner several years ago when I was considering another RENNtech car. This car is for real. Though the price is a lot for entry, it is an amazing example of a highly modified 500E.

... The Holy Grail of 500Es

I like the front bumper...its different.

And are those slip-covers on the front seats? Don't fit very well from the looks of it.

JimY....you MUST drive it and give us your impressions, if you do go see it.

Think they'll just toss me the keys to take a spin?

Problem is, I'm too rational. For that kind of money one can be driving a 211 chassis E55. More horsepower, more torque, a warranty - and it's not purple. I get nervous just thinking how much it would cost keeping a one-off car like this on the road.

I noticed the seatcovers too. Wierd.

Excellent and very worthy point.

As much as I hate post-124 E-class cars, I'd much rather have an E55 than this car. Though I do appreciate the mods and personalization.

What I'd probably really get, given current/recent MB quality, is an RS6 or an M5 for this sort of money though.

Cheers,
Gerry
