500E guys, check out this link....
Just picked up the most recent copy of Mercedes Only at the Japanes bookstore. Two page story on company called "Infini", which I'm not familiar with. But they have some new lightweight Evo design wheels for the 500 in 18", (not 17") sizes that are beautiful. 9x18 f, 9.5 x18 R. And some really nice looking 6 pot AP brakes, as well as their own chip.
Here's the link in the ad; I can't read the pages, but there's some cool stuff there anyway. www.j-auto.pro.or.jp Worth a look. Can anyone translate? |

I'll take those amazing front pipes!! The Evo rims, intake pipes, and AMG suspension. Anybody figure out the Yen prices?

Did you guys see the AMG suspension bits? And what's up with those "E500 Limited" springs-are they front or rear?
Hendy-What do you think the deal is with the intake pipes? Maybe smooth on the inside? Otherwise, I've seen sililar-appearing intake pipes on newer 500Es...

I was also wondering about the springs...
they look like fronts only to me. The ad in Mercedes Only showed the front half of the car at speed with the wheels on, and a very agressive stance, so I assume they are the fronts. Looks like some nice stuff. And David, do you have any pictures posted of your 500? Thanks, allen.

Conversion to USD is 133.924...puts the AMG suspension right at $2,000, or $411 for the sway bar, $90 for the intake pipes. Big Wow at the $360 for the plug wires!!
Hendy, if you want an exhaust like that, I'd bet we could get TimeValve to fabricate one for you...now, in the picture, are those simply catalysts that are further downstream??

HID's?
Interesting Japanese site. I see under the "Parts" link they are showing an HID Xenon headlight conversion kit, and I can see "W124" amongst the gibberish my browser puts in for Japanese characters.
Is this old news or is someone making an honest (not just cheap bulbs) HID kit for the 124? Rgds, Chris Whitney '93 500E, 42K, asleep for the winter |

Speaking of Japanese 500E sites, has anyone seen this web page with a Hagmann 500E converted to a 6.0 liter.
The page is mainly spec's on the car, what is most striking is the background audio you will get when you load the page here. Turn up your speakers, this BEAST sounds scary, sort of like a alcohol blown Hemi! |

Here are some more links on Hagmann;
This on on the M119 6.0 liter engine, http://www.hagmann.com/motoren.htm, 400 HP. * Note you will need a translator web site to read these as they are in the German language. The easiest way to do this is to open multiple browser windows up at the same time, its simple just already have one window open and do a CTRL + N (press both at the same time). Next, simply goto http://world.altavista.com/, and highlight and save the german link and paste it into the address on the translator site, or tap iinside the blank area of the URL field once up top and page to translate. You need the web page address from the Foreign page so once again the easiest way is to goto the URL (the text box up top with the complete web page address, like www.google.com/etc/etc), tap in the blank area anywhere once of the URL to highlight the complete address. Next copy it, just do a CTRL + C (press both these keys at the same time) to save the address to your computers clipboard automatically. Switch back to the translator site and tap in the URL text field and erase what is in there, next make sure the cursor is blinking in the text field and simply do a CTRL + V or paste and select the language and click the Translate button. Everything I have written hear only takes about 15 seconds to do after you have done it a couple of times, so give it a try if you haven't tryed it. Sorry for making thiese instructions so long! |

HELP
I went to this website and found my E500 LTD springs. Only problem was I have not heard anything back from Japan (probably because I sent two e-mails in English - need the Berlitz course in Japanese). All I would need is the MB part numbers and I'm sure I could get them ordered. Anyone have an idea on how to get those part numbers? Thanks

I called an acquaintance at MBUSA-he called the AMG Brand Manager, who indicated that US dealerships carry parts for '95 and newer cars only. He then directed me to AMG West...an outfit of questionable reputation according to some Board members here.
Have you tried Canada?

Did some digging in Canada (mostly on the web) but did not find anything to pursue. Most of the Canadian inventory are post '95 parts as well. The best I have been able to do in the past is chase parts down with Michael Arnoux at Europarts in Miami (he is the one that put together the complete parts list for the oil cooler and saved me a bundle at $876 for everything including the mounting bolts and washers). He has a connection in Germany and can get the parts over here, but it is hard for him to research and dig up these part numbers. If I could get the part number I'm sure he could quote me a price.
Maybe one of our Canadian friends on line here has a lead?

That Hagmann motor sounds just like mine...until it starts up! Holy cow! Hehe...sounded killer.
Can this string be re-posted as "Help! Japanese translator with an account with UPS needed!" Those engine pipes must have taken a LONG time to create...all mandrel bends & welded? Can't be cheap...

Shinichi,
Thanks for the offer. If you can get the part number then I could also compare prices from Europe. This should be an MBZ part number. This would be a big help. Thanks Steve
