Save your money

Based on my experience.G Force Chip will not work with 98 and 1999 m104 engines.I actully got less power,as these companies harp on the perfect AFR 14.7:1 Thats what the car makes stock.I want 10.5 or 12 (richer).
So please save your money, the only chips that may work are between $300 and $600 dollars, and you only get 13 horsepower increase.

For extreme power over stock a 50 cent resistor in the right place will give 25 to 30 hp over stock.

i really doubt my trick can make that much hp i suspect its abt 13 hp as well but its always whats under the curve that we feel. i mean the mid range pull and the low rpm power.

Well maybe with my other mods.I bet a dyno would turn more than 13 hp.I'm not afraid of V8s.

Cheap chips and resistors are never they way to go. Only a real tune works without doing some eventual damage to the components or engine over time. I had spent A LOT or time tuning in the past. Started with an SCT chip that was tuned for me then moved into flashing the ECU myself with a laptop. Its the only way to go!

Ya, 6 is not bad. I pulled the resistor on my 91, I forget but I think that advances me back to center by 6 or more.

Just saying that a tune is much better and will yield much better results that making a part lie to the ECU about what the environment is like.

I don't think its possible with my fuel injection, and if it is $600 compared to 50 cents.

50 cents is too much for a resistor anyway I guess I grew out of the amateur tuning phase and into the advanced. If it works for you, great. But exhaust readings and dyno numbers are the only way to back up any claims - even professional tuning.

i agree if u can tune the car. but tell me can u tune a cis ezl? also for the record i have driven my M103 for ten years and almost 200000km with a similar resistor trick constantly installed. nothing has happened to the car. its a few extra HP that are not given to us by factory to make the car as consistant as possible.

On a 98 an 99 w140 m104 the temp sensor does the guage too.So when modding guage won't work.

Tbh I'm not sure where to start with this one so I'll simply say.... Money is irrelevant, that's a factor of cost to the company. Lambda (most volumetric efficient afr) is certainly 14.7:1 for petrol (gasoline for my colleagues across the pond) ..... your maximum power (for an na engine) will be 12.5-13.

It may be worth taking a punt(gamble) if the chip is very very cheap, I've seen some chips that do wonders for pennies (it's just an EPROM after all, not magic)..... But it's only ever going to be as good as the map it has on it and then that's only as good as how suitable that map is for your particular engine.

I now have full control over an m120 v12 and that cost me £400 for a brand new ecu and a bit off my own time to learn and programme.

Do it right and learn in the process..... That's half the fun.

Sounds good if you have extra 400 pounds to spend. But with high fuel prices here, coupled with low wages and benifits,we try to do things smart here.America treats its workers like crap.
