Posted a complete Tri-Y exhaust manifolds + downpipes system on eBay

Hi all,

I have posted a complete original W126 Tri-Y exhaust manifolds and downpipes system on eBay: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=150639613902&clk_rvr_id=251338810903 . It was taken out of an ’86 560 SEC 300hp euro car with 92.000km on it. That car was in the South of France so may have never been driven on salty roads. As a result all manifolds and down-pipes are in good shape, not pitted or weakened by rust.

I bought that 300hp 560SEC some years ago while I was still living in Europe. It had been rear ended (by a truck, above the exhaust line, so no damage there) and all its interior bits had been used on another car already. But it was mechanically complete and I transplanted the power plant into a W111 Coupe project. Unfortunately the W126 tri-Y system does not clear the W111 engine bay and I had to use an r107 500SL tri-Y system. So I brought this W126 system back with me from my last trip to Europe. I am selling it to help me finance a project I have here in the US.

This Try-Y system and down pipes will fit any 5.0L and 5.6L M117 engine and will be a direct fit on any W126 500 or 560 SE, SEL and SEC. Power gains have been documented here (http://www.benzworld.org/forums/w126...ml#post1874969) and will be of 25 to 30 hp over a US set-up, and of 10 to 15 hp over a euro logs system. But most importantly, it will increase torque and widen the torque band making the car much more pleasant to drive. It is the best “bang for the buck” when it comes to increase performance on W126 500 and 560 cars, especially on US models.

These systems are quite rare in the US, especially with the original downpipes and flanges. So don't miss out!

Below are some pictures.

Please, do not hesitate to contact me for any additional information.

if your car isnt shiny, you dont know what you are talking about, remember; paint shine = knowledge. In order to be taken seriously, you should spend all your money on paint, (and get a dyno reading).
Dont forget to polish it often

Some enthousiasts already make copies of the AMG headers an downpipes, but they come out more expensive. Unless someone does them himself, I think the market is too narrow.

These AMG headers were made by 48hp, a true AMG enthousiast. He is not after profit, more like trying to cover his own research and parts expenses (for ex, he will launch a small series of ten items so that in the end he gets his own one for a low cost I think. Not a bad approach, as he enables other enthousiasts to get unique and rare parts at an affordable price). In the case o the AMG headers, I think he could not sell all of them, and he said he won't do another run as he was loosing money.
