What the heck R U going to do with them?

Tom, mostly I want to snag a set while I have the source. These things are a PITA to locate. I plan to do the 94/95 hood upgrade eventually which is why I want the lenses. For now the 500E lights work great and look awesome, even with my old oxidized hood.

I called Paul, from memory he thought the E500 lenses (purchased separately) were $279 plus S&H, or just under $300 total with S&H. I asked him to check with his supplier and give me a call, to make sure the price hasn't changed since he last inquired.

fad, right now it looks like price could be in the $200-$250 range (probably closer to the high end on that) with shipping included from Germany to USA. I'm waiting for the final word on pricing, haven't gotten the email yet... will post again when I get them.

Hi Dave! Iwas directing my ?? to fad. I know you have a 500E but fad already has an E500 plus an extra set of OEM BOSCH units with the correct lenses in them.

fad, I got the scoop today. 1994 E500 lenses, Mercedes part numbers 124-820-57-66 and 124-820-58-66 (which confirms my earlier post, on page 9 of this thread), for $185 plus shipping from Germany. Shipping is $39 for ground (2-3 weeks, no insurance) or $79 for UPS 2-day, insured. I bought a set of standard Euro lenses from this guy last year and did not have trouble with ground shipping. I'll see how it goes with this set. So, cost with ground would be $224 total for one set. Not sure what the savings is on shipping two sets, I asked, haven't gotten the reply yet (time zone difference really is a pain.) There's probably not a lot of savings unless we organized a good sized group buy, and so far there's been little interest. Might as well contact him directly if you want a set. His name is Sven, really nice guy (with excellent eBay feedback, btw). Here's his email:

It's a link to Mercedes parts sales in Germany, you enter a part number and it tells you what it is and the price in Euros! Very cool. I looked up the E500 (and 500E) lenses, both are ~$85 Euros each, which is pretty consistent with the pricing above. This link could be useful to those of you who like to dabble with Euro-only specialty parts, since MB USA's part systems don't list Euro parts and US dealers can't get Euro parts. Neil, if you're still looking at this thread, I thought you might like this. Sven could probably order the parts from MB Germany and ship them over here.

Dave- thanks for the info...from what I gather it appears that:
>PUMA prices vs. Sven's prices are relatively close in USD @ $300/set vs. $224/set
>PUMA waiting time may be less than or equal to Sven's (I waited a few months for the product to be shipped on the boat when I used PUMA)
