Michael and Jay,

The motors don't have to be replaced, merely relocated using brackets (and the pin/rod in the center must be shortened a bit, if i recall correctly).

When I updated my 93 500E, the motors stayed. Only the panels and wipers were replaced.

Micheal,
The filler panel sounds great! I don't drive it in the rain anyway. Where do you find them?

Guido (ItalianBenz) has fabricated them in the past-I'd suggest you get in touch with him and see if he's able. I would very much like to see a picture of his work, so perhaps we can get him to post one

Wiper Filler Panels

Hi guys. Asked David Hendy. His came out real clean. David
could you please Take a pic of your wiper filler panels. I got daves painted at our factory bodyshop. Where on the other hand
my prototypes that are on my car were painted by a guy who sprays bumpers. He's our touch up guy. well needless to say the finish didn't come out all the great.

So maybe David hendy can post a nice pic for you.

If you like what you see. Then Let me know. Have to specify
1993 or 1994. The filler panels differ a little.

Thanks Guido.

Thank you, Guido! And if anyone is considering this mod, also think about picking up a cooling pigtail-Guido makes those too.

Now, Guido, when are you gonna start fabricating camber plates and rear camber/toe links? Limited slip Diffs? Airboxes?? C'mon, man-Hartmut needs competition!!

fyi- I'm waiting for E500 lights from PUMA, they are back-ordered with an ETA in the US of 3 weeks.

Thanks Michael again for the source info.

Update: according to Paul and PUMA, he is unable to locate a Euro part number for 1994 E500 E-code lights (Bosch or Hella).

He does have the 1994 E-code lenses for me, and will swap them on a set of '92-'93 E-Code Hella bases (the '94 lense has a curved molded top line to the lense vs. '93-'92's)

He's charging me $549/set (lights & connectors; no turn signals) vs. the ~$450 though, and (I did mention the mercedesshop club)....

OK, maybe I am slow or something. I want the best possible lights for my 93 400E. What are my options? Of these options, which can I get the deal on. Just trying to get some clarity here Thanks

Shane,

Sorry for the delay, but I've been on holiday

Now, what do you define as the "best" lights? Bright on high beam? If so, then 500E Euro lights are the way to go. If normal-mode, brighter lights are what you're after, then 300 E euros willsuit you fine, and won't require behavior modification (meaning having to switch on fog lamps to get the aux. high beams to switch on).

Please advise what you prefer, and we'll go from there

Do the 300E euros have city lights?

I don't use high beams very often. Too populated around here.
