the 3.2 engine that was fitted to the '190e amg 3.2' was first produced in 1987/88.

it was based on the 103 12v six cylinder, and was stroked using a 3.2 crank.

it featured head work, which comprised of porting and exhaust valve enlargement.

The 103 rockers were modded to accept the mechanical solid lifters from one of the 102 engines (not sure which, but a quick check of the epc would identify which one, possibly a diesel?)

The engine was also fitted with a different cam, and a bespoke head gasket, made of stronger material.

In the first guise, they made around 235 bhp

this engine was then further developed.

I have been lead to believe in total three stages were offered.

I know the final evolution, avalible in 1989 had all the above, plus oil squirter's and the output was 245bhp, this is the guise of this engine that was fitted in my car.

the story in the op is a bastardisation of the e36 story, it was the e36 that was the first collaboration to mark the takeover.

if your car isnt shiny, you dont know what you are talking about, remember; paint shine = knowledge. In order to be taken seriously, you should spend all your money on paint, (and get a dyno reading).
Dont forget to polish it often

take the oil cap off, look in side, if there are screw adjusters on the rockers, pull the engine, cause it is a very strong, very rare engine.

another check it to remove the rotor arm, and its holder.

if the holder is ally, then it has the amg profile cam in it, they were 800 quid from the stealer, but are nla.
