"Much better" is in the eye of the beholder. I'm just as quick at the track with my little 4.2 liter powered 2.24 geared 400E as Steve is with his 5.0 liter powered 2.82 geared 500E is but I get much better fuel economy and my engine is also seeing less wear because it's not revving as high on the highway. You may also find that it is harder to find traction now with the 2.82s too.

Sorry, I was going to refrain from saying anything negative about this swap that you are obviously so excited about but I felt compelled after seeing you talk despairingly about my beloved 2.24s!
Regards, Eric

I rarely drive on the highway, so not worried about highway mileage so far around town seem about the same. Its Just seems to me that the 2.82 should have been in there from the start 2.24 or 2.82 still a great car !!!
