M119 swap into an HFM M104 W202

Merry Xmass to all of u Members and friends here.
Guys thinking of swapping out my M104 36 engine for a 5.0 M119 from a w140 96 DIS.
been driving my 95 W140 for a few months now and i like the v8 power, now that my C36 is back on the road i am seriously considering swapping in an M119. Few months back i found a complete W210 E50 M119 AMG front at the breakers.

Dont know if it is still there for grabs but even if not a regular M119 will do fine with me. What i need to know is this:

how compatible are HFM and LH if i am to go thru with the swap.

I know 96 W140 M119 had DIS like my M104, what im worried abt is the instrument cluster and the AC compatibility.

throw all ur ideas here pls

I like V8 power,but love a fuel sipping 6 cylinder.My answer was a 150hp squirt of nitrous and gasoline.

I am not sure about the LH and HFM. The a/c should work as long as it gets a engine rpm signal. Not the hardest thing to bypass. The I/C may or may not work. I think that it will most likely not work. LH clusters in 140 are very different from the later ones.
I know this is going to sound conservative but do not do it to the c36. There is not enough special about a 3.6 amg to justify the car instead of a regular 202 chassis and you will be destroying the car from a historical context. I know it probably will not be worth a hole bunch but you never know.
Then you have the freedom to do what ever you want with a standard c220 or 230. Put the v8 in and standalone injection and whatever transmission you want. Custom Instruments that work. I am going to put a touch screen data logger in my old wagon for an instrument cluster.
Put real brakes on it and go for it.

Whipplem brings up some good points.

Far be it from me to talk you out of an M119, but turbocharging an M119 will be more difficult than turbocharging an inline 6 will be. I guess you don't want to turbo the C36's 3.6 because of the thin cylinder walls so how about this instead: grab a C28 and turbo that! That will make for a quicker car than a 5.0 M119 powered C-class would be!

The world just hasn't been right ever since you pulled the turbos off of Dima!
Regards, Eric

Hey guys my plugs turned blue so I'm running 100 shot,125 at track.Yes I went with 2 number down on plugs heat range.
I can't figure how to retard timing on the m104,to use a bigger shot.

What's wrong with grabbing a 2.8 or 3.2 M104, throwing it in your C36, and turbocharging it? Sounds like a great plan to me!

Please don't mess with those M113s. They are seriously nappy, born during MB's bunk era!
Regards, Eric
