2009 + C63 AMG

I'm shopping around for a preowned C63.

Certain models are equipped with an optional performance package. My question is, is there a way to discern which models have this option if the original window sticker is not available?

Is this coded in the VIN?
Are there certain distinguishing visual features that definitively indicate the presence of the performance package?

Help is appreciated.

A carfax would reveal the "amg development package" I believe option p220? Thats a guess. I wouldnt look too hard for that option, it is not common because of the ridiculous cost ($2k?), and the modets gains. (30hp). You can buy a set of headers that will give you 100 ponies...

Chip and long tubes will give you like 90 wheel. A lot of power for bolt ons. MHP has a lot of packages. And since so many long tube kits are out, there are a lot of people selling used shorties for "cheap"

Yeah MHP says a $1400 chip will net you 70-75WHP and 35wtq. Thats CHEAP power. Headers get you another 30-45 wheel.

Its P030 AMG Performance Package, and yes, the VIN will tell you.

I can check the VIN to see if it has P030, just PM it to me.

Thanks Justin and others.

I don't plan on "modding" the car. These are limited production cars, with a potential for being desirable to future collectors. Changes to the vehicle may impact its attractiveness to a future buyer.

Justin, is there a vin decoder available?

Id look at the value of a C36, or an 80s original AMG car which is a lower volume car, I wouldn't count on the car appreciating in the foreseeable future.
