Talking 500 E H&r Springs

I NEED SOME ADVICE; AND FROM WHAT I HAVE READ SOMEONE MAY HAVE ALREADY TRIED THIS. I PURCHASED A PAIR OF 500 E H&R SPRINGS; I WANT TO PUT THEM ON MY '92 400 WITH HD BILSTIENS AND A 500 E SWAYBAR. WHEELS ARE 17 X 7.5 AMG 5 STAR REPLICAS, 35 OFFSET WITH 235/45/17. THE HESITATION RELATES TO AUTO LEVELING SYSTEM THAT IS ON THE 500. WILL THESE SPRINGS WORK WITH THE SETUP I HAVE DESCRIBED.

THANKS REECE

I believe the H&Rs DO work with the SLS...Guido has them on his 500E and their in my plans...as for them on a 400E...that's a good question...me thinks yes...but don't quote me. The 500E suspensions are modified and the track is widened over the standard w124 cars.

Does your 400E have load-leveling? If not, I think you may get compromised results, as the load-leveling setup supports a portion of the weight of the car. Now if your current setup does not rely on such a supplemental system, how are the springs gonna match up?

I've never seen springs for any MBZ model be the same for cars with or without the load-leveling, so I think you may be out of luck, but that's purely my opinion-I wish you luck

Hi Reece. The best thing to do is cross reference the part no# 300E/E320/E420+td W124 6-cyl, V8 1987-95 no 4WD or conv, 8 1.3 1.3 29569-2 500E PART NO# 500E W124 5.0L V8 1992-95 w/self-leveling, 8 1.25 1.0

Reece for some reason its a different part no#. I wouldn't install them They might be short springs due to the leveling suspesion on the 500E. This is after my research you may want to call
tire rack or H&R's.

Hope this helps
