What color recaros do Silver 16v's have?
I was under the impression that both colors the 16v's came in had black recaros? Did any of these come without the recaros? The reason I ask, is because I'm looking at a 16v to buy and in the picture i was given it seems to have a tan interior...? Now the picture is from outside the car, and from a distance, but it's clearly not black inside. It has the body kit / getrag 5spd / so i'm assuming it's a real one.
Thanks, James |

The 16v only came in 2 colors, Pearl Black and Smoke Silver which is not silver but more of a champaigne color.

White Meadow-
I too was under the pretty 'solid' impression the Recaros only came in black. There are a fair # of knock off 2.3-16's out there, be careful. Should you be interested, check out the Classifieds section, I'm unfortunately selling my "REAL" 2.3-16... Good luck, they're a B L A S T!

whiteMeadow,
When I ordered my Euro 16 valve in early 1984 for a December 1985 production date, the leather interior was an option I specified. The standard interior seat covering was a "houndstooth" cloth, in black and white which was possibly available in another color combination. I do not recall, but I did not pay much attention to the cloth options. When I get back home in a few days, I will check the order book if you like and see what the other color combination was, if in fact there was another one. Check the car out carefully. It should be apparent if the car is not a factory 16 valve. Good luck, Jim

Hounds tooth cloth centers with leather or MB-Tex sides. The cloth keeps you from sliding.
