06 CLK55 AMG Rotors

Hey folks,

I have an 06 CLK55 AMG and I think it might need new pads and rotors. For maximum stopping power for a daily driver, what would you recommend?

I don't need performance caliber parts. I'm hearing the mercedes rotors and 600 a piece for the fronts, which seems excessive. Any cool and good rotors out there I should check out?

Thanks in advance,

David

Nelson Mandela was offered a red W126 by the workers of MBSA when he was released from captivity.

This 500SEL was offered to Pope John Paul II, in august of 1985. The car was lenghtened slightly, a single rear seat and an enlarged slideroof were just some of the extras on this car. Oh, and it was armoured, of course.

Facts from this very cool W126 site: http://home.concepts.nl/~vlimmere/index2.HTM?3e3ea140

Nobody?

This is just me, but OE MB rotors only for an AMG. Perhaps a few aftermarket rotors like Zimmerman are good to consider and are cheaper in price.

Pads you can choose from a ton with most being just fine for the street; I presently am liking Akebono pads which are quite dust free and feel great.

Yes, of course, AMG specific rotors from MB are indeed expensive. The prices just keep going up too. I think if you search the net you'll often find genuine OE MB parts being sold at wholesale prices....(20% off dealer list prices) parts.com, ecs, and this place below for parts are good places to check out. If Phil was still here you'd be all good.

Hey now, long time no JayRash !

I must admit...I did sell the 2WD 911 I had about 5 years ago; it was to get into the AWD RS6 ! 911s are super nice cars but RS6s are nicer IMO.

haha I know I haven't been writing much, but the forum hasn't had a heated debate for some time either.

too bad u sold the 911, I know that audi in the rs guise make for one good car but I cant help thinking that it lacks the delicate feel to its controls that the 911 offers.

having sold my old AMG, I now find my self interested in owning an S3 or S4.
