Need advise on having performance up-grade done to 2013 Scirrocco.
Engine is now 1400cc, factory stock. Turbo-Charged.
Looking to have it tuned to maximise full potential, increase fuel economy.
Shop here in Singapore quoted me $900.00,this is for Electronics/Software.

Need feed-back-what to request-what is available.

Thanks,

UK Scirocco

You'll need to seek answers on another forum such as the above as the USA didn't get the 'neu' Sciroccos.

I'm sorta your lesser kindred spirit here , up until May 2013, I had both a Mk1 and Mk2 A1 Scirocco, each for 25+ years.

Many of us old VWdubbers were pretty bummed that VW didn't send us any new models, although there was enough interest in the enthusiast crowd to sell a few thousand, at least we thought that.

Yeah, a good ECU tune for that turbo motor could cost that 900 bucks...I don't think it'll give the car any better gas mileage though, maybe a few mpgs at most if at all. It'll certainly make the motor put out more power....which all Sciroccos need.

Jim, perhaps you can clarify/put this into laymans terms for me.
Following is mechanics email:

'I will prepare DSG performance calibration for your set up since you are running on a tune bocks, and scalable when you opt for direct tune nekt time.
Should you go with engine tune with us later, we can further refine the alignment for both programs in the future.
DSG performance calibration will not give ekstra HP and Torque, but it allows torque transferrance accurately and safely. We activate several features in the performance calibration that is otherwise not needed for a stock engine.
The key identifier's are the Torque Limiter and Clutch Torque Capaciter, these are modified to allow 100% torque transference and a very nice progressive pull is eksperianced.
The fundamental of the calibration remains same-that is to resolve juddering, improve D and S mode, late switch-bacl, heat protection, clamp force and anti-slip.
All of which allow even wear of clutch. After calibration you will need to follow our procedure to 'bed in' and should see significant results over the nekts few days.'

*(sorry for the spell errors-the "Ecks" key is shot on my laptop).

^ Also note*, I decided to forego engine Software Mods..and just have him tweak the Gearing.

Maybee at a later time I will go with the 'Stage1' engine tuning..if money permits.
Simply because if I am going faster, I will need to up-grade Brakes and suspension.

Sounds like he first will do a TCU tune (transmission control unit)...it will indeed make the car drive/shift better and put more torque down as he states. It may lively up the little Rocco enough to where you might not want/need a boost in HP. I'm not sure a TCU tune is worth $900 tho...the MTM TCU software is only $125 installed (soldered in) around here.

I have the MTM TCU software in my RS6, it's not DSG tranny but it does make for better shifts and totally puts more torque to the wheels. It holds gears right up to redline whereas stock program was sorta lame/sublime (on purpose no doubt for us yanks)

Got a picture of the Scirocco?
