Question '82 euro M110 280E, wasted spark ignition conversion, am I forgetting something?

Hi all,

I have a 1982 euro 280E, with a M110 engine, that I'm currently converting to wasted spark electronic ignition.
(I'm using a Canems ecu, like a megajolt conversion without needing a Ford EDIS.)

I'm nearly ready to fire it up with the new ignition system.
But I have a nagging feeling that I'm missing/forgetting something.
In the back of my mind I have a feeling that the Bosch K-Jet/CIS fuel injection won't work because it gets a signal from the original ignition, am I correct?

If so, can somebody explain to me what's missing?
And is there a way round it?

Also, I'm planning to remove the over-complicated Mercedes fuel pump relay, and replace it with normal 4-wire relay.
Will this cause me any problems with the injection system?

Cheers Frank.

Ps, this is stage 1 of my project, it will be converted to full EFI in the future, using BMW M3 thottle bodies.

The only signal from the ignition to the K-jet system (your version) is to the fuel pump relay. You apparently are treating that situation independently, and that "fix" will not affect the injection.

Thanks, that's probably it, it's just been bagging at me over the last couple if days, that there was something glaringly obvious that I was missing.

Fingers crossed for next week!!
