Thanks for the info Rbycc...
Can I ask one more question ? Are all the cars in your signature yours ? Are there any fotos of the wide? I thought that it has a 4 gear shifter... And u can do whatever u like...is there any way I can change gears on my own?.. From 1 to 2....but I think know changing on its own should be fun and easy !!! I did some widening also https://m.facebook.com/MAC.THEOS/albums/100144073353631/ Last edited by Mb gtx35; 04-06-2014 at 05:26 AM. |

The 722.3 in the 124 builds have a "P-R-N-D-3-2" shifter pattern.
There is a valve body modification that will create a first gear start but unfortunately the shifter does not have a '1" detent. !!! A very lengthy and detailed thread on my replica widebody build was on MBClub UK forum: MBClub UK - Bringing together Mercedes Enthusiasts

I've done a bunch to my 722.3 It has extra friction discs in 3rd and 4th. I've modded the valve body to start in 1st, increase working pressure, and defeat working pressure reduction in 3rd and 4th. They can be pretty stout boxes if done up right. Unfortunately I don't have any links to share and didn't take many pics when the trans was being built but I can try to answer any questions.

I would really loved it if u could help me....
I found one gearbox for 300euros ... and I will rebuilt it before putting it .... And make it faster.... If I can...if I buy the 500rebuilt kit... Will I see any difference? Maybe the disks for the 500 are stronger No need for a 1000euros 722.6 and another 1000euros for electronics... I ll try my luck with the 4speed... With ur help I could make it really good killer transmition ..... It's more draggy I hope my 3.27 will be ok with ratio and lock with the manual asd handbrake... To lock to LSD ... But I think i will need a 2.86 asd If I find one... Can we please start of how do I put more disks inside ? Shouldi make new spacers? Or cut new disks? And how will I make it start with first? Should I buy a 1-2-3-4-d shifter? :? What will I do with speedometer? Any links? Please help me Just ordered new r888s 275/40/17 I wish I can make it grip better... Seen some videos from turbobandit and my mind is gone away!!!! I can't ever work... I just think how will it work on my 4cylinder all night Really thanx for everything Last edited by Mb gtx35; 04-06-2014 at 03:41 PM. |

Just get the standard re-build kit they are all pretty much the same wear parts between the different models the 722.3 was offered in. There are clutch packs that engage for 3rd and 4th. If you select for thinner steels you can fit a 5th friction disc in both clutch packs. You just have to make sure you still end up with the proper clearances for the clutch pack.
