I don't know your car so i can tell you specifically if there is a kit for your car but why don't you find a local performance shop and get a custom flowmaster or equivalent setup?

The Arospeed universal mufflers are nto expensive and they sound nice.

I have one on my 300CE, and it sounds very nice.

I'd look into one or a custom flowmaster or similar setup.

I wanted to geta remus, but they wanted ohh about $600 or so for one for my car. I saved $400 by going with a universal, and I am pleased witht he results.

Ashman did you get full piping done with it too or did you just put on the muffler? I didn't do full piping on mine because I didn't know about it at the time I got it around last year.

While it definitely gives it a throatier sound, I am sorta dissappointed in it. First of all, I think it sorta cheapens the look. Its definitely a wannabe AMG type thing, yet its so obvious its not an AMG. Also it doesn't seem to be perfectly aligned, and looks a bit off centered. And for a car like mine that hasn't been lowered yet, it looks kinda weird when you suddenly have a stainless steel muffler under your car and everything else under it looks dark and old. At first I loved it, but now it gives me the feeling of some cheap flea market exhaust. What do you think?

Now, you say the Arospeed gives it a throatier sound, by throatier do you mean it sounds like a riced-out honda or toyota? Or is it like the Mercedes AMG and BMW M-cars? Also, does the universal fit the E420 or will i have to bend the pipe to suit? Will a flowmaster fit, because I've done several systems with flowmaster mufflers, and I always thought they were better suited to muscle cars and the like with plenty of undercarriage space? If a custom setup is possible, how much would it cost roughly?

Thanks

Great exhaust systems, reasonably priced.

An MB mechanic gave me an idea.
Cheaper, and probably add a little
power and definetley sounds better
than oe.Get rid of the center resonator.
Add the "Y" pipe instead, and retain the
oe muffler w/your favorite tips. You just
lost 35lbs.in wieght. I might do that.

I agree with clauser, if all you want is sound and a bit of performance (can't get much out of a Mercedes exhaust system) then, go with the Y pipe. You will have a much better sound. I do agree flowmasters belong on a Mustang Camero ect.
Clauser has or should I say had? Carlsson 1/6 17x7.5. I belive he had some problems with the setup and Tire Rack sent him a new set of wheels.
Is this correct Clauser? I can not remember if it was you or not.

Hey Manny !

Hurry up with those pictures. Can't wait to see your car with the AMG's and the Avantgard Grill.

By the way, where did you get the grill from ? How is it's quality ?

I heard many issues on quality from those items in the past and would like to know your feedback. Thanks !

I had custom pipes bent from the resonator to the muffler. I had it placed as far left as possible, and had the pipes bent accordingly to fit it.

I am putting on a bodykit, and the rear skirt will cover the sides of the tips and they will fit in just fine.

Mine arent off center, and are aligned right.

My muffler guy enjoyed doing it and worked longer to get it the way I wanted it so it looked right.

The tips are bigger, but I dig on it because it looks mean.

Check out the pics on my site. it should be on the exterior page. Just click the linka t the bootm or the WWW button in the post buttons under my signature.

Sound is very nice. Mine does not sound like a rice burner. At fway speeds its low and not obtrusive. At city accelerating off, friends have commented it sounds like a BMW M5 or a Porsche sound. Either way, It sounds really good as far as I am concerned.

I wanted a deeper tone, and I wanted it louder, but not LOUD, and I wanted it to purr nicely with good sound. Since I got the arospeed on a great deal, I bought it and am happy with it 100%.

I plan on painting the body of it black with high temp paint only if it is visible enough from with the bodykit on.

I will have it raised just a tad too when the kit is done.

My brother had a magnaflow put on his range rover. the thing sounds sweet. The V8 with that magnaflow sounds mean, growls, and it is loud. But it sounds like pure muscle. It reminds me of a well tuned muscle car that has that mean grumble that is music ot the ears. - Now personally I think its too loud, but whenever I drive it, I hardly turn up the stereo, just because I like the sound of it from in the car.

As far as my car goes, it is not ridiculous at all. When I get to go to a meet with the car next time, the others who go can listen to it and tell me what they think, but either way whether the opinions are good or bad, I'm keeping it.

I would go to a custom muffler shop that does mufflers and all, and let them recommend and or install a nice custom system for you.

When I had my MGB, I took out the rear muffler and put in a Glass pack similar to a cherry bomb, in fact it might have been one. All I told my mechanic at the time I had it done is, I want it to be deeper and a bit louder with some nice tone to it. When I got it back, it sounded sweet, and I loved it. A Friend put a glass pack on his 64 ford falcon with the I6 engine. It sounded pretty cool, but it sounded out of place on that car as it was not a deep grumble.

My car as it is, I think sounds perfect, and should have come with a sound like that in a sport edition that was decked out with sport suspension, and all. My Friends 1991 BMW 525 sounds really nice, and thats a factory BMW throaty sound. Now my Benz, Sounds sweet, and I love it.
