W123 front bump stops...
Hi all,
I've got my 1982 280e track car, on custom made springs now. It is very low and very stiff, I've fitted a factory sump guard because of how low it is, there's slightly less than 2 inches under the guard. Under hard braking the guard is clipping the ground. Does anyone know if there are any harder, or longer bump stops available for the front shocks? As I think this will cure the problem. Cheers Frank. |

If you use hard bump stops to control suspension compression you may end up with a car that suddenly goes into understeer. ( spring rate goes near infinite with a hard bump stop )
Try to look for progressive bump stops that look like a cone or ribbed, this way they act as a progressive rate spring. I don't know where to get them though, perhaps some of the racing shock makers have them. |

Thanks, that's what I'm going to do.
Should always ask hear, I get a proper reply, rather than the smart arsed comments I get on Benzworld... |
