Hi everybody,
my project is going on, I've studied some different solution and now I find this Frankencis from Australia that seems to be an alternative and simply way for control fuel and timing without upset of the original fuel system. They report that controlling the EHA with a microsquirt ecu allow to deliver more fuel conserving the stock injector and distributor.. Do any of you know something more about this solution? |

Hello guys,
some work update: -I've successfully installed FrankenCis controlled by a Microsquirt. -a 36-1 trigger wheel mounted in front of crank pulley. -an ignition module (Bosch 0 227 100 200) connected to the original coil and controlled by the Micro. -New original Bosch injectors -AEM O2 wideband. - Rotrex c30-94 -Mishimoto "G" front mount intercooler. -2,5" alluminium air pipes. At the moment I'm driving the car with the charger disconnected, I'm playing with Tunerstudio and doing some tune. I set only fuel with EZl working (not set ignition time) and I'm very happy with result. I remind You that with this system I should be able to enrich fuel mixture under boost controlling the fuel pressure through EHA. Now I'm waiting for a pair of silicon hoses for to complete the air connections and I'm involved in breather system arrangement. Here I need some help! 1) Could I leave as it is the servo brake pipe? 2) I've a pipe coming from head valve cover that goes into air filter and below a pipe from crankcase to inlet manifold. The idea is to connect both to an oil catch can in turn connected to the compressor input. I greatly appreciate any suggestion |

If you are asking about the brake booster line then yes. They have a check valve on them.
And the crankcase vents need to be to the inlet of the supercharger so they never see boost. Or have a check valve on the restricted one. That way you can still have engine vacuum pulling when off boost. |

Thank You whipplem,
Now what I should do with the trasmission vacuum hose? Leave on the manifold or put it on compressor inlet too? It's a 722.5. |

Yesterday I started the engine for the first time and now I'm very happy!
I kept it in motion only for 2 minutes and sound was nice. Now I've to complete the assembly and than connect to Tunerstudio. I need some informations and hope someone here could please help me... - Where to connect the vacuum tube coming from the trasmission (722.5) - what kind of spark plug do You suggest? Thank You. |

These are the spark plugs I will be using:
NGK# 2668 BKR8EIX Heat range 8. You may need to adjust your heat range, but i think its generally suggested to go up 1 heat range per 100hp added to stock |

Thank You Justin, I know that with supercharge or turbocharge conversion it's reccomended to use cooler spark plugs, 1 heat range lower for each 8-10 PSI of boost. Is it correct?

NGK spark plugs go up in number as they get cooler. a BKR8EIX is one step cooler than a BKR7EIX. look up a conversion chart as each spark plug manufacturer uses a different numbering system to designate heat ranges.

Turbotechnics recommended for their M104 turbocharged NGK Bcp6es spark plugs.
I'm a little confused.

That's a copper plug that's 1 heat range colder than stock. They used low boost, so didn't need to go too many steps up.
The copper plug is fine but I think you'll have to replace them more often |

Just for completeness.
A "copper plug " only refers to the core of the center electrode not the outside of the electrode. Champion used this terminology ( and perhaps invented it ) as a way to pull more heat from the center electrode. It also does not refer to of the plug is resistor or non resistor. Granted, plugs marketed as copper core plugs are generally plain steel center electrode and not platinum tipped. |

Now It seems I've to reduce the water cooler temperature. I've the stock cooling system, What have you done on your m104980 to improve cooler performance?

At the end I mounted NGK BCPR6ES.
This is how the engine appears.

Looks awesome, valve cover looks brand new.
What kind of boost levels are you looking at? |

With a 95 mm pulley I've 0.4 bar instead of 0.7/0.8.
Maybe some loss from the rubber lower section of the airflow meter that I intend to reinforce later.
