190e m104 turbo
Hello everyone
I start my project 2 years ago, in w201 instaled 3.2 m104 engine with supercharger of c32 amg. i was blowing 0.6 bar. it was 260 whp on dyno. I machined piston 2mm from center for decompression. than i chenged supercharger with turbocharger and blow there 0.8 bar, my acceleration was 100-200 kph 8.1 sec on racelogic. but some day I had bearing knock and my engine gone wrong, as I think the reason was few oil level in engine . now I want instal m104.980 3.0 engine, but i don't want machine pistons for decompresion, i was searched copper head gasket 3 mm but not found who will make, turbobandits don't have for this time. so if anybody knows if I can instal pistons of m103 3.0 engine for decompresion ratio, becouse as I see bore size is idential. |

The M104 is a 4 valve per cylinder engine and the M103 2 valve, there might be a crash between valves and piston when swapping pistons.

this I know and it can be fixed as I thing, with some maching pistons valve area

I don't think there is anything to be gained by swapping pistons. The 104.980 has a smaller combustion chamber than the 103 which accounts for the difference in compression ratio. For all intents, the reciprocating assembly is identical between the two motors, discounting the 2V and 4V valve reliefs.

m103 pistons have piston dish, and m104.980 pistons are piston flat, becouse of this I thought it will help to decompression ratio. what are you thinking about?
