Part numbers and source for 185mm ASD clutches - PeachParts Mercedes-Benz Forum

Our 190 has a modified ASD diff in it. However the clutches are on their way out. Does anyone have part numbers and/or a source for the clutches and metal friction plates?

As I get parts for this rebuild I'll post info here. If anyone is interested in what has been done to this diff its a standard ASD with the hydraulics removed and non ASD stub axles and seals. I am currently looking for a Ford 7.5" LSD type S spring and some assortment of clutches and shims to use for preload.

Finally got this on track with a host of other changes including a cage and better sway bars. The car drives great. I feel like a DTM driver now.

Posting this up as confirmation that you can convert a ASD diff to work as a LSD by dumping the ASD cylinders in the trash and using standard 185mm W124 output seals and the output shafts from the open diff. The housing seems to be specific to the ratio and the carrier to the LSD (obviously) so I left all that alone. Just swapped seals and shafts after cleaning the diff out and taking a few measurements. I stuck a ford 7.5" S clip in the LSD to get a bit of preload and breakaway torque. That does require taking the ring gear off as the pin does need to be removed. This spring is not necessary but I like it and how it gives the car some lock up with no load. Probably has about 50lbs of breakaway torque as tested with the strong arm torque wrench. You may also want this if you're looking at doing this to get traction in the snow etc.
