M156 head work, parts suppliers.
Guys,
So I've been researching potential problems with the M156 in my 08 E63. The serial number is low enough where it has all of the bad parts, lifters, head bolts, etc... Looking for recommendations. I'm assuming the Pelican can supply stock replacement parts, gaskets, upgraded head bolts, M159 lifters, camshafts. If I'm not planning on any performance upgrades, should I do anything more exotic like ARP head studs? I guess what I'm asking is: If you were replacing head bolts, lifters, cams, etc... would you go with the stock updated parts or performance parts? Thanks!

Unless you're planning to add a Weistec blower later on down the road, I'd just stick to the OEM bits. The updated headbolts, lifter buckets and cams should be more than adequate.
I'd also recommend either swapping your fuel injectors and/or having them cleaned - far too many reports of blown motors from faulty injectors.

Sounds like how I'm thinking. I'm not going to go nuts with this engine, just want it smooth and reliable so I'd say:
1. Stock M159 lifters. 2. Stock replacement cam(s) if needed. 3. Updated head bolts. 4. New stock injectors. I'd hope no more than a couple thou. $$
