Well Tico, Can't help you on the seats and all, but have you been to an upholstery shop that does recovering and all? I am sure you could get yours recovered for a decent price.

also, try taking caps lock off when you type. Caps is considered shouting.

I've actually replaced the carpet in my 300D (same car), and basically it is one HUGE piece that costs around $200. That piece, plus front mats & small side pieces & you'll have all-new carpeting.

As to the seats, your car likely has Recaros now; Recaro did most of the W124 seats (to include my '88 TE and 500E). Have a good upholsterer replace the hides with OE skins, and consider installing new horsehair padding. FWIW the pads in the front seats of '88 and earlier cars are more comfortable than the '92s (ask anyone who's spent time in both), unless you are on the heavy side

Recaro seats part 2 (for michael)

Thanks a lot for the info, and the price is just up my alley too.
I live abroad and it is impossible for me to find the carpeting down here, maybe you can tell me where exactly to buy it and have it shiped.
Thanks a lot.
TICOBENZ.

My dealer ships in the US for free; where are you? Knowing where you're at would help greatly

I am going to take a guess about where our fellow memeber is writing from. Tico is the way people from Costa Rica ( central america ) are called.

I might be wrong, but let's wait for TICOBENZ to give us an answer.

TICOBENZ, I was wondering how you like having Recaros in your 300e? What model Recaros are they? I'm considering going this route as well being that I really am disappointed by the stock seats in my 92. How is the fit? My stock seats have a great range adjustments height wise. Do Recaros have adjustments for seat height? Did you do anything to replace the armrest that is normally attached to the drivers seat? Any input would be greatly appreciated!

Tom

TKD if you are planning on changign your seats, think about the 500E seats, I believe they have more support on the side bolsters.

Also, 500E seats are identical to W124 chassis Sportline seats. Further, I'm pretty sure they'll clip right into the existing wiring harness

I beleive Ernesto hit right on, I am from Costa Rica "the geological center of the universe".I would only need to have it shipped to my freight forwarder in miami, they would take care of it from there.
Thanks

Alon, Michael, Thanks for the info. But do you know if the seat cushion is any longer than the stock seats. I've found that seat cushion length what is lacking in my stock seats. My wife's 92 Q45 has seat cushions 1.5" longer and I find this to be what feels "right" to my butt. My stock seats are around 19.3" in lenght and the Q45 seats are nearly 21".
