Do '94 E320 lights fit on '93 300E?
Does anyone know if the 94 stock smooth euro lights fit on a 93? I noticed the lower-inner corners are different, but it is the only thing different that I can see between the models. (save for the location of the E) If not, what are some good affordable smooth and legal euro lights that fit on my 93, and what website sells them? (I dont have hl wipers).
Thanks! Brooke |
The lights from 94 will mechanically fit on the 93 300E, although they are cosmetically designed for the 94-95 hood and grill. They are a US spec light, not a euro light, and have differences in the beam patterns. In theory there are no legal Euro lights. That said, the low beam pattern on my 'illegal' Euro lights (87 300E) is IDENTICAL to the patttern on my 'legal' 1998 C230 US lights. The DOT has a history of resisting lighting changes for years, and then allowing them (Halogen bubs used to be illegal, as well as anything but sealed beam - a light without a seperate bulb. I have been running the Euros for 2 years without any problems, but then, I don't use 100 watt rice bulbs, and don't try and blind oncoming traffic.
You can get lower cost Euros from Fastlane, Puma, and several others - a search for the words 'Euro light' will give a number of threads with web sites and buyers comments, as well as a thread on converting to the 94 US lights (which will cost about as much as the Euros unless you buy them at a wrecking yard.) |
Best deal I've found on high quality E-code lights in from PUMA...www.puma-access.com. Call Paul; I just got a set in 4 days for less than $300 US
