My new baby (500E)
|
Looks great! I see someone upgraded the taillight lenses & front corners-looks great. And I find interesting the differences between your car and a U.S.-spec one-you get a selectable transmission a fire extinguisher and an external oil cooler; we got a rear sunshade, heated front seats & front passenger airbag (I'd rather have your options!!)
One strange thing-yours is the first Euro 500 I've seen with US-looking single zone climate control. Was that perhaps some sort of option? Enjoy...and let me know if I can give you some guidance on a stereo install;) :p (To those unaware, Mr. Drought's the brains behind my 500E's 850 watt, time-aligned, 11 speaker Alpine/MBQuart/Precision Power/AVI sound system) |
Yeah, the garage I bought it from put the clear corners on. I like it :-)
Not sure on the climate control... I suspect its an option yeah. Gonna drag out my old faithful NHT and see where I can put it <g> |
Congrats!

Great looking car Brian, that should make the concrete cows turn their heads ! ! ! Might I take the liberty of asking how much you paid for it ?
|
haha andy !
I paid £13K for it, but it is completely original and in lovely condition. |
Brian, sounds fair and I cannot recall ever seeing many of those about in the U.K. probably with petrol @ nearly £4 a gallon, hardly surprising. I must say since I got my 500E, my whole attitude to motoring has changed. What a blast these cars are . . . enjoy and drive carefully !
