If decent care means not driving a car hard then the trans isn't up to it's task. What do.ypu mean"what you want to do.with them" anyway? Deliver pizza and drive to work? I've never smoked one towing but I wouldn't complain if I did. Not shifting correctly or even consistently has zero to do with how I drive or what I'm doing with the car. . In a car that cost equivalent of over 100,000 dollars today that is absurd. 120 hp in a 3800 lb car it's getting it's neck wrung out just to not get smoked by a trash truck. Don't be silly tj. You are a manual swap guy anyway.
You are funny.

I love when people say"you are a troll" to whatever effect. I don't even know what that actually means. If it is insinuating that I'm saying something simply to get a reaction that is hilarious.

I've never had a gm th350 or th400 fail in any vehicle. I killed a th 250 (honestly thought it was a th350)by putting a v8 in front of it in my first full build. The replacement for that th350 was a 700r-4 which are most bashed gm trans for muscle cars,. I got it from a ratty camaro that was confiscated and auctioned after a high speed pursuit. It was in my malibu then my monte carlo behind a healthy 406 small block since about 2010. I killed it when a cooler line blew and I torched 3 rd and 4th. It still would drive in 12 and reverse. Simple robust and reliable. Same as a 722.3 should be but they just have some gremlins. This week the (granted it's a **** box) 300td I've been driving just decided it doesn't like to shift into 4th sometimes. Maybe it's at 40 maybe it's at 60 maybe not at all untill a neutral back to drive. Slacked the the cable to no avail. It was maybe a half quart low so I added, seems to be a bit better so I re adjusted the cable and it's not right still. Well it's fine sometimes but it may just decide it's not when it feels like it. Junk.

Have you tried doing a transmission service? You should never adjust the cable other than the correct position. If you have fresh fluid and filter then based on your complaint I would check the wot switch on the floor is not sticking. But if they stick you typically wont upshift till around 1000 rpm below max shift points for all gears. Then after that you need a new valve body. Or rebuild yours. Nothing lasts for ever.

Service them... drain the converters.. change the fluid and filters. Update the modulator and check the vacuum system for leaks. Test the trans vacuum switch on the pumps. Adjust the cable and modulator to your liking.

There are some spring updates as well for the valve body. I also believe the bands are adjustable but would have to check.

If they aren't slipping, it's likely just dirty and out of adjustment or has vacuum supply issues.

Omg. Did I ever tell you how feel about tapatalk? What another colossal piece of ****. I'm done not writing it AGAIN. Compared to all automatics the 722.3 is a piece of ****. It works(kinda) and lasts a long time(usually) but it's still a ****ty excuse for an auto. No overdrive. 3 detent for 4 gears. It sucks. Nobody is taking apart cleaning and updating modulator's blah blah blah in A lexus transmission or 95% of any modern transmissions. Overcomplicated and finicky. Junk.

Not doing any of the above to transmissions in 7-8 cars. My first 300TDt would start acting up, change fluuis and filter and it would be good for 5-10000 and start acting up again. Never saw a spec in the filter or pan. Just poorly designed overcomplicated with to many inputs that barely do anything. Why would you use vacuum to control a trans in a car with an engine that doesn't create vacuum with throttle movement? Stupid. It may work(just not very well) and work for a long time (untill it just stops going into reverse one day) but that doesn't make it not a ****ty automatic transmission. You don't have to do any of that **** to an auto in a lexus or most japanese cars ever(modulator, remove valve body and clean, update blah blah blah). They go for hundreds of thousands of miles and handle tons of power in most cases without being touched.
(This was the third draft of this after tapatalk just logged me out in the middle. This one magically reaapeared today, so annoying)
