PS I, like Neil and a few others, am also a member of the Ritter-Easley List. What do you think about extending an invitation to any of them who might be interested? I'm not interested in getting the MBCA involved, although, if someone feels strongly about it, I'm not opposed. I would like to keep it to 500E/E500Y cars, though.

And I was just up in SF yesterday afternoon. Noticed a familiar silhouette passing at a cross intersection ahead of me.

Luck was with me (500E pursuing 500E == a draw), as the other car was being lightly driven and the usual horrible SF traffic gave me a break.

Caught up to the other 500 at an intersection on the edge of North Beach. The gentleman inside was on the phone; I waved and caught his eye and gave him a thumbs-up. He waved back: I suspect that he could see just enough of this car to identify it as an E, but I get salutations from 300- and 400E owners a few times a month, as he probably does too.

As the light turned green, I accelerated hard enough to give him a better look at the car and the trunk badge. At the next light he was lit up, big grin, returned the thumbs-up. Yet another member of the secret society recognizing another! We oughta have a covert handshake or something.

I was pushed for time and couldn't contrive to roll down windows and say hello. Wonder if that might have been someone known around this board? The car itself was a beautifully kept example in silver, my favorite color on most MB vehicles (and on the 500E -- perhaps my only complaint, a minor one, is that this one is black).

Set it up and firm up the details- up in! All of Sept is good for me!

...Seacost- - I've seen a couple of silver 500e's w/ ~50'ish gentlemen driving.....(2 different ones) around SF

...one of the guys regularly spirits down Bush St in the weekday AMs!

Count me in, lets make this official and get everyone on board!

Please remember that some of use will be traveling quite a distance so somewhere near hotels and dining would be preferable. I'll probably make a three day weekend out of it so my wife will definitely be joining me.

Soory Tom . My PC was down for 4 day had a virus. I lost all my emails contact. A good 100 to be exact. No I forgot to back up. So Yes count me in for Sept 22. Keep it going. As for some of us, we will need lodging.

San Rafael is in Marin County, the first county on the other side of the Golden Gate Bridge. There is a beautiful coastline, Mt. Tamalpais, lots of twisties I'm thinking in terms of motorcycles again). Lots of interesting places to stay.

WOW, it seems like we have the critical mass to make this happen for September 22!!

For those of us who have to travel (at least two days from Edmonton), I'd appreciate it if Tom would make the call on our destination so we can make hotel arrangements.

Anyplace close to the coastal highway and LOTS of wineries suits us fine

We should be able to get some good off-season rates at the B&B's??

....come up to N Cal for Sat AND Sun-- - I'm sure the Bay Area 500 owners can do stuff on Sat and Sun (Sun being the formal meet)

Shoot. I thoguht the 22nd was a SAT. I'm in the same boat as Neil. Can't we make it on a Saturday. Sunday wil be my day to drive home. Does this sound ok with the rest of you.
