AMG exhaust options for E500??
 

Hi All,
At some point, I would like to upgrade the exhaust on my E500. I was saw an anthracite E500 in San Jose, which sported a square section AMG exhaust. The latter was very similar, if not identical, to the exhaust found on the C36. The installer had cut away a section of the lower bumper, perhaps 1.5" high, and a little over the lenght of the twin pipes, so that the tail pipes appeared integrated into the bumper and not hanging below.
Any ideas as to which exhaust might have been used and relative cost of the setup?

I'd ask if it's for the V6 or V8, just so there's enough flow.

BTW- seems expensive. How about a Remus instead?

1993 500E (Remus rear muffler)

how is your remus neil? What kind of power gain did it give you? I've been looking for an exhaust that is pretty quiet, but has some noise ;)

The Remus was installed previously, so I don't what a stock one really sounds like or if there is any HP gain.

There's an aggressive hint, esp. at WOT, but still very subtle. My wife says the car is still quiet by her standards. I do still have the stock resonator, so maybe that's what really keeps it quiet.

oh and fyi....
no performance upgrade unless you get the complete exhaust...headers, etc..
if you have the muffler changed...all it does is make your girls butt really look good....and she touts a commanding growl...that's not too immature and obnoxious...
