replica clear corners don't fit!

Guys,
Never buy a"made in Taiwan" replica clear corners, they don't fit!
I purchased mine from www.procarparts.com for my C280, the price is:$25.00+shipping.
Anyone knows other replica that will fit?? I don't want to pay $150.00 for OEM clear corners.
I can't believe they sell stuff that won't fit to your car, very bad product.

I bought depo (taiwan) clear corners for my 300CE, they fit fine. Are you sure yours wont fit right? Perhaps they sent yout he wrong ones?

Have you called them to explain to them they wont fit?

Yup..they don't fit, I will call them to find out why they don't fit. It's the right parts though.
Actually, my friend has warned me before I ordered it because he has had the same problem with his car.
I think they are a couple of different manufacturers that make those replicas, where did you buy yours at?
Thanks!

I bought mine from www.gapa.com for my w124. But try importvision. they have some for like $55.00 or so.

most aftermarket clear corners are b.s. [alan don't e-mail me, ha ha].
i got screwed on some, within a month the rubber gasket was cracking and they woudn't lineup or snap in correctly.

RETURN YOURS WITHOUY DELAY!

buy oem, YOU won't be disapointed.

www.euro-carparts.com is in great britain.

e-mail them and ask how much for OEM BOSCH OR HELLA!!

www.puma-access.com might also be able to help.

this is a very hotly debated subject here, MOST people here prefer oem for the quality.

Wanna hear something strange,,, My asian made clear turnsignals fit perfect and look great but my Hella smoke taillights don't fit right at all!! They left a 5MM gap on both sides! You cannot always expect high quality for the money i guess.
Good Luck!

I have aftermarket clears, and they fit great, look good, and the rubber is still in pretty good shape.

I am getting smoked front corners soon.

These are from Procarparts and they fit fine.

daulia71 07-10-2002 11:51 AM

Hmm..I guess they are not very consistent making those parts, some are good and some are bad, the lucky one will get the good parts:rolleyes:
I have to use a Dremmel to trim the clip so it will fit but it still don't fit right like the OEM.

Cap'n Carageous 07-10-2002 01:45 PM

I recently removed mine to fix my headlight wipers. A couple of days later I noticed odd gaps on the sides next to the headlights. When I replaced the corners I had not inserted the lower inside slot. I'm sure you've checked that but it wouldn't hurt to make sure you're sliding all three fingers and slots together.

I have clear corners from procarparts also. When I purchased them I had low expectations just because of the price, but when I received them I was impressed. They look great and fit great. no complaints from.. I wish you luck though!!!

Snowman 07-11-2002 01:14 AM

Procarparts has been banned from Ebay simply because of all the complaints they had on them. They're a bad company.

ebennz 07-11-2002 10:25 AM

send them back

daulia71

ok there are different ideas regarding these "junk" [my opinion]
corners.

the fact remains [in your case] yours don't fit.

RETURN THEM WHILE YOU CAN!!! DON"T WAIT

you can start over again and get whatever corners you want, and still get your money back.

i think that is VERY interesting what snowman said, e-bay has BANNED procarparts because of all the complaints.
so, there must be something to this.

they would never even respond to me when i had my problems, it serves them right. my opinion.

Peter mentioned Puma Ligthing in Ohio and that's who I would recommend as well.

I recently ordered the Euro lights as well as the Bosch Clear Corners and everything fits almost perfectly. It's not a perfect perfect fit but only someone like me would notice.:D

Give them a call and ask for Paul. They cost $65.00 a set by the way and are in stock. Make sure you get some amber bulbs from the dealership to keep everything legal.

daulia71 07-11-2002 01:48 PM

I broke the lower clip on one of them, do you think I can still get a refund?:D Probably not.
Oh well..there goes my $37.00 for nothing.

My friend just ordered one from procarparts for his C280 too, and guess what...they don't fit either.
I have called procarpart & they told me no one has complaint about the product.
Anyway, thanks for the input guys!

Cap'n Carageous 07-11-2002 03:42 PM

Sounds as if they're quality went down. Coming from a manufacturing background, I know how quickly and easily that can happen. I'm glad I got mine when I did. I'd call them back, tell them your problem, that they didn't fit and one is broken and would they replace them. If they don't then you got screwed. But, we'll put out the word that they are lowclass and they'll lose potential business from 8000 members!!
