my 500E's g-tech results!
Alright guys, i finally got the hang of the g-tech and realized that i didn't have to floor it as soon as it said -GO-, so, things turned out a little better and i got better starts. So heres the scenario:
no passengers 1/2 tank gas a/c off 1st gear start completely flat and straight surface, specifically a bridge... 12:30am...no traffic engine around 100 deg I did 3 runs: Run 1: 0-60: 5.78 1/4m: -car pulled out- Run 2: 0-60: 5.77 1/4m: -hit red light- Run 3: 0-60: 5.74 1/4m: 14.22 Sounds good to me I didn't peel out off the line, and i think it's because of JimF's cool harness. I guess having the aux fans on sucks up just enough HP/torque off the line to keep me from peeling out and my ASR kicking on. I didn't believe it at first that the cool harness was keeping me from peeling out, so i took the cool harness off and did a 0-60. I peeled out hard at start, my ASR kicked on, and i got a 0-60 of about 6.4s. So heck, it keeps my engine cooler, and it gives me a better 0-60 by keeping me from peeling out. Worth my $39 ;) Welp...that's my runs. |
When I first bought my car I tested it stock on my G-tech. Weather was a chilly 40F, and I was at Sea Level (next to the ocean actually), ran 5.6 to 60 and 13.6 in the 1/4. Trap speed was 106mph.
Temperature really effects these cars, they love cool temps. I yet to try my car in similar weather conditions at the same location since my modifications. |
On a really cool day, with a righteous launch, I got down to 13.38. Temp. is everything, as our good man Hendy says:)

Well unfortunately i think my cooling system is going bad some way or another. I got JimF's cool harness, with A/C and about an 80 degree temperature outside my engine runs around 105 degrees. Bad radiator? Something isn't right, but i'm leaving for greece tomorrow, so it must sit for a month :(

I had the same, tried everything, but eventually went for a new rad. , keeps temperatures in check unless I am on the track.

...masking a cooling system issue w/ the piggy tail doesn't work- - must source the cause(s) of the problem(s) - - then enjoy the benefits of the piggy
