"Younger" 1994 E320

Hi all,
I am new to these forums, but have enjoyed reading all the posts. I have a couple of quick questions for you benz experts out there.
I have a 1994 E320 (smoked silver color) that runs GREAT with 111,000 miles. I am a 20 year old college student (read: nearly broke all the time) looking to make my benz look sportier and more like a college student's car than a dad's car. (no offense to you dads out there!).
I had a 12" dual voice coil sub in the trunk, but I blew the amp and have decided since that I don't want to spend the money to replace it; I'd rather have the trunk space for the haul to school.
SO, I have decided that some exterior changes to the car might be just the ticket. I am looking at purchasing some Mille Miglia 16" MM11-2 rims for the car, I think the really thin 5-spoke design would look unbelievably good on the car, check

http://www.tirerack.com/upgrade_garage/WheelSearch.jsp?filterSize=16&filterFinish=Painted&changeColor=Vehicle+Color&filterSpecial=null&autoMake=Mercedes-Benz&autoModel=E320&autoYear=1994

and go over a few screens to see how they look. I would also like to brighten up the exhaust sound, and a muffler seems like a good way to do that for a relatively cheap price (100-150 bucks). I have noticed that a lot of you like Arospeed mufflers, and I was eyeing the 3.5 inch dual tip AMGs, but I don't know if they would fit on my car. It has dual tailpipes, but I don't know how large they are. I definitely DO NOT want a ricey sound to the car, I'm hoping for a little more depth and "attitude" without being the annoying whine you hear on the slammed civics.
Any advice on the wheels, the muffler, or any other relatively inexpensive (and not too tough DIY jobs -- I must plead ignorance on matters mechanical) would be GREATLY appreciated. THANKS!! (And I apologize for the lengthy post, I didn't realize it would get this long)

Jordan

The arospeed can be custom fit as its universal.

As far as wheels, Those wheels are nice, but have you looked at the mille miglia bellos? Those also look very good.

Either way, you can't go wrong with either upgrade.

The arospeed on my 1992 300CE, sounds more like a BMW M5 toa porsche 911 to me. Very nice tone, not too high, not too deep, but it has a mean grumble.

Mille Miglia Bellas

I looked at the Bellas, but they just don't scream SPORTY at me like the MM11-2s. It does bother me a little that the only cars I can seem to find pictures of those wheels on are Bimmers, but hey, I think it might be time for Benz owners to stand up to those little Bavarian punks. Do you happen to know if the 3.5 inch dual tips would fit on the E320? I definitely don't want to have to mess with changing or cutting the rear bumper.

Thanks!

Should be ok, I had mine mounted as high as it can go without cutting.

Check my site www.the300ce.com/300ce you can see pics of how mine was done.

Mine scrapes because my car is lowered, but only when I have a passenger and am going out of a steep driveway entrance.

When I get my bodykit, I'm raising the muffler an inch.

For Alon,

Is it possible to bend down the tips of the arospeed to get a better fit under the car? Did you ask?

You would be impressed on how much of a tool Ebay can be. I really like to keep all my parts as stock as possible, and someones junk could be your treasure.

Depending on your tastes, you might like the newwet 17x8 5-spoke E-class Sport wheels that should fit nice on your car.

The mufflers are pretty easy now and days to go custom, and clear corners and smoked tail lights are everywhere. Besides the system, another nice lil trick is the lowering of your car through the perch which just require labor.

Good Luck (Trust me I know how the College budget is since I'm there myself)
