Damn mushedroom, you really wanna get rid of those wheels don't you! They get no love at all ;)
Nice coupe! Here's a Lorinser muffler specified for the 4-cyl W124's. Cost me a lot! |

I've noticed on my 94 E320 that the muffler tips are in a cut-out part of the bumper. I'm looking at the Arospeed mufflers, and trying to decide between the dual 3" and dual 3.5" tip models, but I'm not sure that the 3.5" tips will fit, and I certainly don't want to have a cut out part of the bumper but the tips underneath the bumper because they won't fit. This might be an ignorant comment, but will the 3.5" tips sound any different from the 3"? I suspect either one will look good, but I want to try to put the tips in the cut-out if I can and I think any stainless steel tip would look good. It's really the sound that I am concerned about. Anyone know the answer to this question?

hey holson, yeah i know my girls shoes are like the nasty set of kicks i have ever seen...ugh...
money's tight gotta skimp on certain things and for now it's her dayum shoes... soon though soon she'll be skippin with the best of em.... i see you've got the money to burn though...them lorinser mufflers cost a grip!!! i figured...why spend all that money when i'm not going to have my tips sticking out far enough for people to see them from up top....i just want subtlety and sound hey muya... if you notice, my muffler doesn't sit where the factory cut out for the bumper is. if you really look at the bumper straight on you can't tell where the cut out is...i don't know if this is the case for the 94' e320....but on my car i just mounted the muffler over a bit.... |
you can see pics of mine at www.the300ce.com/300ce
Go to exterior pics. Theres my bad boy on my coupe. No new pics up as of yet though, got a few mods to do first... :) hehehehe Alon |
Richard, now that I look at it, you're right. It definitely looks sharp on yours....now my problem is deciding between the AMC style like you, or the rectangular angle-tip cut 3.5" muffler......DECISIONS DECISIONS!!!!! And I gotta make my choice in the next couple of weeks because I am definitely getting a new muffler on like the moment I get back to school.
|
hey muya,
alon has the rectangle not angled tips... if you want yours to be really aggressive sporty...i would say those are your better bet... of course alon's saving up to get the wald body kit so his set up is going to look hella aggressive and dope!!! i like the tips only cause i was planning to mount the muffler closer to the inside of the bumper lines...i find that in doing so, it eases the "driveway scrapes" for some of those reallly steep cut driveways here in lost angels.... |
ohh mine scrapes my driveway dpeending on the angle I take it at.
But I need to raise it about an inch as I didn't want to cut the bumper, but now I realize I should. plus when I get the "Kit" It will be sweet looking and hella sporty and agressive. Alon |
Alon, I ought to just e-mail you and Richard every time I have a question :)
