Thumbs up W124 500E 6.0 AMG on E-Bay

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1846291488

Is the dashboard meant to be black instead of tan like the rest of the interior and vice versa?
381 hp sounds nice though

Thought some of you might find it interesting. I'm in the market for a 500E. If any of you have one around BOston area let me know.

Thanks,
-Holson-

There's a black 93' 500E for sale at F40 Motorsports in Portland, CT....2.5 hrs from you in BeanTown. Tan leather interior, I believe they have a website or call information to get their number if interested.

That just happens to be a factory AMG E60. Never released in the US, super rare and very fast.

Thumbs down

I hate to be a skeptic BUT...notice the rear trunk badge is "E500" on the left? For a 1992? A proper AMG conversion would have the E60 badge.

Having used eBay a few times, I always worry when the seller has more cautions, threats and conditions to the sale then they have description of what they are selling. The blurry photo of the AMG sticker is also something to worry about. Finally, it appears the photos were taken at the rear of an industrial park, which leads me to suspect this may be a car curber.

A real AMG 6.0 conversion will have the engine displacement stamped on the engine block and I'd look for that if anyone is seriously interested in this car!

On the other hand, if the car is cheap enough, one could enjoy it regardless of the provinance.

Cheers,

yeah. you would think that the very first thing someone would show regarding a 6.0AMG would be the AMG valve covers in the engine compartment, not to mention the displacement stamp on the block (per dean).

If this is really a european market car, good luck getting it registered in the US.

It does appear to have the 500 flares on the fenders........ interesting that it mentions the conversion to the late hood and headlights and mentions no accidents....

I think it's a 500, but NOT an AMG car....

The treatment on the trunk is not from a 92 ...maybe the owner liked the chrome strip from the 94s as well as the hood/lights....doesn't it look like the rear emblems are mounted too low also? looks good with them big wheels though.
