Red 500e looks Good No?!

(RED Car near the end of the photos listed)
http://photos.yahoo.com/bc/aldedmon/lst?&.dir=/My+Photos/Dedmon+et.al&.src=ph&.begin=9999&.view=t&.order=&.done=http%3a//photos.yahoo.com/bc/aldedmon/lst%3f%26.dir=/My%2bPhotos/Dedmon%2bet.al%26.src=ph%26.view=t

Just keeps getting better looking to me by the day.
It'll be 2 months next wednesday since I first brought her home.
I had to rather unexpectedly have the evaporator core repair done(Winn subsidized somewhat). As you can see I've added the Euro headlights, white corners and the headlight panel vents replacing the std wipers.
These things are expensive to craft as can be attested to by Michael et.al. Mine were $7.50 ea for the non wiper panels, $75 to have TNT Motorsports machine the holes, $80 for a E55 AMG lower grill(needed the grill to make the mesh to cover the holes in the panels), and $115 to have them powder coated.(Actually i had the grill to the 400e conversion powder coated as well and the headlight panels from that car also. They had a $95 minimum charge so I kept taking stuff off the 400e till I had $95 worth).
All totalled they're ~ $125 ea!
Had the car detailed and the paint cleaned really well at the local Benz shop here. they did a Fantastic job. Got the "homeboy" special.... $100 a piece to do each car, regularly ~$750!
Windows tinted to take some of the bite out of this Gulf Coast sun. Added the K&N's and did the capacitor/pig tail mod.And the StonGard headlight protector sheets(an absolute must!)
Had the engine and tranny mounts done also courtesy of Winn. Been noticing a muffled "clattle" coming from the front end/steering linkage when I'm moving slowly and happen to turn the wheel slightly. Crawled underneath tonight and felt the idler arm(?)(center linkage with that mini shoch attached. Felt like it would Damn near fall off as i touch it. Gotta get one asap
Anyway,
Have a look Boys!

Hello Albert,

IMHO Red is a awesome color when the sun is out, have you considered some nice chromed / polished wheels to really set the care off?

Fiske makes some very nice wheels that go well with the 500E.

Here is the link, http://www.fikse.com/photos.html

BTW, the new lights look great.

Its Red / Parchment w/ 61K mi.
I order the Drag link(center tie rod) and the steering damper from FastLane this AM. Will get 'er all fixed up this weekend.

I Don't really like chrome wheels. All that flaking and pitting. But polished, now that's the way to go. Actually I like the Polished EVO II's. That's probably the way I'll go, unless i catch a deal on some AMG's off a late model SL. I saw a RED SL yesterday with the AMG's on it and boy did she look sweet. The car was pretty nice looking also! :p

Thumbs up Mmmmm....

polished EvoIIs are niiiice .

They're brighter than the silver and the "titanium" finish makes them look like they're perpetually dirty IMHO

Lone Star blues

Hey thanks Pete , but no can do on the license plate filler. Here in the Lone Star State, a front license plate is Mandatory!
But that's cool, cause all my cars have vanity plates anyway
Next i'll probably update the tail lights and that'll pretty much be it for a while, till I burn the tires down(at least good till next summer) and then its....EVOII Time!

Cool RED 500E

DID YOU BUY THE RED 500E from TOD in Tennessee ? I looked at that car awhile back, he seemed like a real nice guy when we spoke.

About the trany mount, I have taken the trany out of my car and I did not have a trany mout (well no rubber ones anyway) all there is holding the trany in is a cross member, and no rubber mounts. I belive that they are the same on the 500E so you may want to check in to what was done to your car.

But anyway....
Car looks great, maybe I can have a ride (possibly drive it?) when I come to Houston, in October.

Lookin good.

Aldedmon: Did you ever consider doing the grille in red to match the car a la AMG Hammer? I've been toying with the idea of having mine gunmetal chrome plated to match the car's trim!

E Dream - Not sure if this is the same guy. I bought the car from a "Todd" in Alabama who had infact bought the car from the Orig Owner out of Tenn.

Dean - If I did the grill, I'd have it powder coated. I had the vents beneath the headlights powdercoated as well as the grill and headlight panels on my 400e conversion. It took longer that I expected (~17days)

Subman- Yes, there is in fact a tranny mount on my 500e. I order my own parts and so I rec'd the part BEFORE they installed. Getting 500e on the brain are you.... Sure I'll give you a ride/drive.
Of course you'll have to sign a disclaimer, cause I'm not gonna be responsible for the infection that you are gonna get after the experience. There is only one cure........Buying a 500e/e500!
