Supermodel in a 500E

Guys,
I was walking across the parking lot to my car last week when a spruce green, 92-93 500E pulled in. I walked over to chat with the driver, and a 6 foot tall, incredibly gorgeous woman in her mid-twenties stepped out. Being recently single and wanting to practice my chops, the best I could do was say, "I have one of those. Its just down the street." She smiled at me, and I stuttered, "they're a bit scarce, you know". Absolutely thrilled by my witty repartee, she smiled and said, "yes, they are" in a captivating European accent. Since I live in a very small town, a village, really, I've been hoping to see her again. I could invite her to our N. CA. get-together! If she came, I'm sure the conversations would veer away from "Where did you get those wheels", etc.
Of course, I thought, "It's probably her boyfriend's". But, what if it wasn't? What if she is an enthusiast? What a gift from God - Allah - Yaweh that would be!
Having been single again for only a few months, I realize how I woefully out of practice I am.

See some of you in September.

It's a great bike; however, the orthopedist says, "no more motorcycles".

Screw the orthopedist. He's probably gonna send someone he knows to your place to buy the K75S. He's just after the bike, don't be fooled. Hope the guy he sends over double-crosses him and keeps it for himself .

....man, oh man- - Tom if you only caught about a year ago -- we could have been hunting buddies (the successful kind)

I would have been happy to help you get your feet wet again in the 35's+ scene here in the SF Bay Area...

alas, though skills still sharp, I will have to send you the powerful good hunting karma from here

how much do you want for your 300e and what's wrong with it?

best regards
-fad

Fad,
Yeah, I'm a bit out of practice in the business of being single. Maybe you can give me some pointers at the get-together.
About the 300E. I bought it from the original owner at 100,000 miles. I have all repair/service records since new. I has always been serviced at or before the interval, with oil changes every 3750 miles. I had the head gasket and valve guides done at 150k, car has 166,00m, and it neither burns nor leaks any oil. Trans shifts very well, brakes are fairly new, tires are good; only known problems are that it needs rear shocks and my tech says it will need flex disk in about 5000 miles. The body is in great shape, no door dings, etc. However, someone just swiped me in a parking lot on the back bumper on the drivers side, but it may be able to be detailed out. Also, the front air dam has a crack and is missing the tow piece. The paint is consistant, but the hood is crackling a bit. Interior isgreat, has a Panasonic CD trunk changer. I also have the original Becker, never used, in a box.
I planned to keep it for a very, very long time, so I maintained it really well. However, as you all know, I caught 500E fever, and the rest is history. I really need to sell the 300E, and will accept offers between wholesale and retail. It has a lot of miles; I commuted between Santa Rosa and Concord for a few years, but they are highway, 50-60mph miles.
The exterior is Nautical blue, interior Palimino.
Let me know what you think. I live in Marin.

Tom...you sure is wasn't a guy in drag?...

When I was out looking at importing a car from AMG West...I saw a good looking 'something' driving an E55 in San Fran...upon closer inspection it turned out to be a 'man' ...and I say that loosely...

No problemo Tom-
...its always been fun to be the PR person in the crowd- - no problemo even introducing strangers to each other! These days I naturally keep well within the comfort level of my off duty supervisor to keep matters harmonious in -fad world. We'll get you to meeting as many people as possible and you can run with the ball from there.

re: 300e- - What year?
I have my eyes peeled for a good MB for my wife. Does the a/c, heater & cruise work? Any fluid leaks- diff, trans, motor, p/s, H20 into the cabin etc.? Any wind whistling noises? The sunroof operate OK? .....
>The E320 Coupe and E500 are exclusively for my use- fortunately they were mine prior to stepping down the aisle (and agreed to stay this way- no problemo).

Jim- - you are not kidding on your experience (some are quite striking to look at) and... many a night in the dark venues of fun here in the SF Bay Area- - friends have brought over eye candy for my review and second opinion!!!...and more than a few rec'd the wide eyed -fad thumbs down- ehh- incorrect match my friend!

Life in the Bay Area is always interesting.
Fad, it is a 92, first year for first gear start. A/C, cruise control, and heater work fine, no water leaks in the cabin, no leaks to my knowledge anywhere, sunroof works perfectly - it has been lubed on a regular basis, and is very quiet and smooth.

You take care of my nemisis now hear, Fulgence!

If your wife knows what's good for her, she better have her eye "peeled" on you. Your talents may be wasted in what it is that you do fo a livin unless what it is that you do is - " talkin the dog off the meat wagon"

Damn U remind me of me!^)

Hi Guys-

Thanks TomW for the 300E info, maybe we can take a look at it when we're in your area for the 500e meet?..... the used car market these days is pretty awful since the 0% financing offers have pretty much convinced people to jump in on the new vehicle ownership vs. used

....Mitsubushi Motors is even offering 0% for 5 years and no payments for 12 months on 2002 models!!! ON another ntoe though, I've observed that bargain-priced used cars move pretty quick in spite of the new car incentives

TomE- ...ummm, no bridges to sell these days (great analogy- -talking dogs off the meat wagon) and surely we'll manage to take good care of your nemesis

re: off duty supervisor....though totally trusting of her hubby- - she is quite the pro at maintaining a vigilant eye on the whatevers circling her area of the fish tank

Have a great day and best regards!
-fad

Hi Scott!

Attached is the look of the Avanteguard S600 grille. The image is of application on a 94 E500. Not sure what it will look like on a 93 or 92 500E.
