Fuel Pump Upgrade
For W126 vehicles, what is required to convert from a signle fuel pump setup as found on the 300 SEL to a two pump setup found on the V8 cars?
Thanks, Motor Head |

Nothing ! The dual pump set-up can be found in the 4-cyl as well. All you have to do is swap it out. The harness unhooks under the rear seat =)

Quick question why do you want 2 pumps?

I am interested in two pumps because I am going to add forced induction to improve the low end torque. I have found a Mosselman twin turbo set-up but I don't know if they upgrade the fuel system or not. I learned about Bosch CIS on a VW GTI which came stock with 96 hp. I found out during my mods to that car that the stock Bosch injection could support 180 hp with no mods! 100% marjin with no mods is pretty good in my book. I assume my 300 which came stock with about 180 hp could probably sustain 250 hp but I'm not willing to find out the hard way. I figured the safe thing to do is over-engineer the fuel system and it seems like it should be easy since they are all off the shelf parts. I just don't know which ones.

Why not just put in one high pressure pump?

A better mod would be to upgrade to braided fuel lines and swap out injectors. Call Pierburg, I believe they do MB fuel pumps. Adding extra fuel isnt going to do any good unless it is matched with a proper air flow. So, unless you are skilled in ecu programming, go and buy Mosselman's corresponding kit. MB fuel pumps are high performance pumps that really dont need upgrading.
