Intercooler Sizing

Can anyone give me a quick run down of how to size an intercooler to a turbo application. I am in the process of doing this and I just want to make sure I am not screwing this up. Thankyou!

Intercoolers

Guys,

The website for the Spearco intercoolers is www.turboneticsinc.com

They'll send you a catalog, I think the charge is about $5.00 and they have a manual on intercooling for about $15.00.

I'm intercooling a 1983 300Turbo Diesel and am using some of their parts. You might want to check out their new intercooler for the Toyota MR-2. I'm not suggesting you use it on your MBs but they've installed a Spal 450CFM fan so that the intercooler gives maximum HP boost at idle. Normall, you have to be moving to create air flow through the intercooler and thus get the HP boost.

Do a Google search for Spal fan and it'll come up, check out the 6.5 and 7.5 fan sizes. 330CFM and 440CFM respectively.

Going the fan thing myself. Will post specs once we're running. Beware of a silver 300DT with no fog lights and chrome grills over both those openings. It'll probably end up with propane injection as well.

Ben
