Thumbs up

'Twas a perfect day for the NE 500E fest at Alan's beautiful home. A great big THANKS to Alan & Bev for opening up their home to our greatful group of maniacs. It was amazing to see all of those incredible vehicles parked in the driveway-just about every color, all shined up n glowing in the sun. And thanks to you guys for allowing me and my lone E55 to take part. We've got to do this more often. Hopefully, someone will share some pix real soon.
Gary

Thanks, and a Pic!

I second those thanks to Alan and Bev. Sorry I had to leave early to head back to MD. Here's one picture - others may have done better.

What you got here, my friends, is close to a million bucks worth (ok, at sticker....) of 500E's!

Rgds,
Chris W.

Bev & Alan!

Thanks for hosting a fun day. It was GR8 to meet the personalities behind the keyboards on this forum. You have a beautiful home down there in the boonies of the Constitution State but God are your roads scary after dark at 80 or so mph.

Looking forward to the next gig.

Tom

Talking Great time!

Thanks again to our hosts Alan & Bev - great food, cold beer, and a dozen 500Es (and an E55) to ogle over - who could ask for more? Nice to see such a strong showing, with cars coming from as far as VA and NH.

It was neat seeing all the modifications & different wheels the owners have installed - keep up the good work everyone! From a V1 installed in a custom re-built 1st aid compartment to big brakes & exhausts (sorry I revved your car so many times, Hendy, but I couldn't control myself:p ) to Tackman's 6.0 litre RENNTech monster motor (headers & all) to racing harnesses, if there's a modification that can be done I think it was in attendance.

Sorry a few of the guys didn't make it (Diablo, Farrukh), but I think 12 500s in the same place is a record of sorts; have so many been together in the U.S. since Rossle Bau?

The gauntlet is thereby thrown, fellow 500E owners out there in the other regions: how many can YOU pull together??

We'll have to do this again soon - any thoughts?

Kudos to ALL!!!

...long drive but VERY much worth the trip. Nice to be back in my homestate (YES I am a damn Yankee as they say here in the South)

I must say I was very pleased to meet everyone whose postings I have been treating like pages from the 500e/E500 bible over the last few weeks.

The food was great, conversation stimulating if not entertaining at times, beer was cold and the expertise was overwhelming. WHAT else could someone ask to walk away with? A souvenir perhaps...WELL we even had a hat to commemorate the event. TALK bout class. I came away from the meet with a laundry list of items to address in the coming weeks and learned more about this car in 5 hours than I had in the 4 weeks of ownership. GOOD catch Micheal on the hidden V-1

I must say I think the showing was impressive with all that iron lined up even though the cops did muscle in a bit on our fun I definitely considered that a true measure of success!

Now for little Southern hospitality...Bev and Alan; beautiful home, wonderful hosts and good people...Jim THANKS for teaching me how to bleed my brakes for the Super Blue (though sorry you bled a bit yourself...oops)...and to Michael for helping me adjust the Bowden cable...Oh and to Dave and his wife for playin scout on the drive up there and saving me a ticket.

Well I guess there's only one thing left...WHEN's the next event???

And a great time was had by all.....

Thanks to Alan and Bev for a wonderful get together. I love the house.

If you didn't make it, too bad. You missed a blowout party!

I have pictures that I should have up to a web site by the weekend, and if I can, video as well.

I am not sure if all those New England cars want to come down to Pennsylvania, but, i would be willing to host the October/November GTG! (Sunny northeast PA). (132 miles from Alan's.) Hmm, about 1 1/2 hours away:-)

Maybe we could get some PA/WV/MD/DC etc. cars

Just a thought.

Lightbulb OCT. / NOV. GTG.

Dave,
Sounds like a better location for us guys from the Old Dominion, there are alot of 500E owners in the Washington D.C. , Virginia, Maryland, Pennsylvania and W. VA. that could attend a meet that is within 2.5 to 3 hr.s driving distance. A more central location would make things more accessable to more owners, I would think. For guys such as myself who have small kidz, overnights are really hard to coordinate. Just my opinion, not to offend anyone. It would be great to try and combine the Northeast and the Mid-Atlantic into a 20+ car blowout !!!!!!!!!! :p

GTG Thanks

Hey Guys,

Thanks for coming and bringing all the goodies! We had great time meeting all the east coast fanatics- I especially liked the "limited"s color and extra features (although I cant say the same for the interior upholstery- different, but not for me)
To show how special these cars are, I am also glad to report to the rest of the forum that ERASE got flagged down just before getting to my house by a guy with a nice E36 (not on the forum) who wanted a good look at an E500! It was his lucky day! He got to see a dozen in one spot! Will try to get Bev to post the pics ASAP.

For all you guys from PA, NH, VA, thanks for making the trip. For all you guys from those areas who didnt- I don't get why someone with a car like these can't wait to hop in a go for road trip- especially for a GTG, unless they are all garage queens!

Hey, we left the house at 10PM after the GTG and drove to Road America at Elkhart lake Wisconson- 1000 miles by 1 pm Sun afternoon! Just so I could go 650 miles around the track (250 driving and the rest riding as an instructor) and then drive home again!
But we will be happy to take the short drive to PA or where-ever for the next GTG. The balls in your court DaveB!

Alan & Bev

Trackman,

Thanks again, not only for putting on the GTG, but for taking away any excuse for avoiding one of these shindigs (I even drove 600+ miles at night once just to avoid Trackman's wrath - can't be a wimp, dontcha know )

What a great meet!!!

Mid-atlantic GTG is cool by me...my folks live in MD now so we'd make a weekend of it...look forward to another with even more sweet machines and good people. Every single car was just totally sweet and the number of different mods were phenominal. What a site to see 10 of these dogs rolling into an empty parking lot. Nice stuff.

Hats off to Mr. and Mrs. T for their hospitality and the crew who made it from the long distances. Its people like you who make these things so good to be a part of.

When we decide on another Southern NE GTG may I suggest having it in one of the parking lots during the Greenwich Concourse in June...tailgate it, so to speak. The rest of the car enthusiast world deserves to see these cars together.

Great to meet all yous and hope to see you again soon.

Unhappy Trying to finish a purchase of rims and tires.

I was going to buy some rims and snowtires and an extra Evo II rim off from on of the members I met at the meet. But I lost his contact info. My email address changed as well. Does anyone know who the guys who had Evo II rims were? I do remember that he lives near Hartford CT.
