Im a ricer now...

As nice a car as the 300E was, that thing was just a P.O.S. that was hell to deal with. I got myself a 99 Civic SI, 160 hp 0-60 in 7.1 5 speed manual and Im lovin it. I never thought a Civic would be so much fun, its fast, it weighs 2601 lbs, it handles like crazy, the VTEC sounds incredible and its just an overall awesome car. You don't know what youre missing out on in the driving experience till you get a "real" sports car, no wannabe 180hp old school TANKS, and wondering whether if you cut the front of the air intake off or not you will get .02 hp. Modifications are so easy and cheap on these Japanese cars, its just a blast to have one of these things. From a former Benz owner, take it from me, if youre lookin for something fast, light, fun to drive, easy to modify, handles great, low maintenance and cheap to repair, and would smoke those 300E's to hell, get a 99 or 00 Civic SI.

Heres some pics of the car I bought btw:

I prefer rear wheel drive too, but its not that big a deal.

And whoever came up with the "chicks dig the Mercedes" thing has got it all wrong. Chicks dig NEWER and and SPORTIER lookin cars, not some 13-14 year old 300E. So unless your spending the big dough and getin a NEWER Mercedes, you're fooling yourself if you think the "chicks dig" those 124 body style Benz's. Then again Im sure it has something to do with your age too, Im 20 and this car has gotten so many more looks and compliments than that 300E ever did.

I wish I had every penny I ever spent on that 300E back. Even those clear corners for 50 bucks weren't worth it.

Bobby 300E,

You should be expelled from this board. Or at least change your handle.

I understand: young and foolish.

Im sorry, but im gonna have to disagree. Im 18, i get more turned heads in my 300E than anyone gets in our school parking lot. Everyone always comments on how nice my car is. Whenever im caravanning with another friend somewhere, the girls always choose to come in my car... Now i admit the 300E is a POS, especially being 15yrs old, but i gotta say no ricer, no civic has ever beatin me! I don't care what the stats say, i'll win.

Bobby,

"Rice Troll" sounds good to me.

One day when you get older and wiser we can invite you back to the ranks of MB owners.

Well, this posting demonstrates what I have always thought;

You can take the boy out of the ricer, but you can't take the ricer out of the boy.

You go, Bobby. Those are quality women flocking to your car. And just like the Honda, give 'em 10 years, then see what they look like.

As for me, I use the benz as a woman filter. If they like it, they're worth spending time with.

I'll say that many newer Japanese cars are more desirable than a 300E, but a Civic is NOT one of them.

Sorry for being young, oldtimer. I guess the saying is right for certain people such as yourself, growing old is mandatory, growing up is optional.

Im not gona even bother trying to respond to your nonsense. Quit trying to compare different age groups and their tastes unfairly. Who says I'll be driving an Si in 10 years when Im an older man and looking seriously for a mature older woman. You're a very intelligent and deep man, using your women's taste of cars as a filter.

And chris, just because you race a buncha LX and DX non vtec civics it doesnt mean you can beat em all. You would have no chance in hell against my SI, and i bet even a lightly modified VTEC EX with 126hp would take you. My friends EX with intake exhaust and headers killed my other friends 220 hp 2000 Avalon XLS. Dont underestimate VTEC.

And if a 300E gets more attention than any other car in your school parking lot, I dont know what kind of ghetto school you go to lol.
