Those are some impressive figures. Please give us all the details you can provide, as we are all power hungry speed freaks. How reliable is the water/methanol injection cooling method? What kind of blower did you use? Who designed and installed the setup for you? What kind of times are you running now?

No one can argue with 493 Hp, a couple of tuning tricks will easily give a good bump as well. I take that back, Car and Driver can!!!

A 15% increase is generally considered a safe margin for stock Mercedes cars, that would put the current E55 at roughly 570 HP for !

Where will it end? In 5+ years Mercedes will redo the E55 again, I can hardly wait!

Daeson,

I'm using an ATI Procharger P1SC at around 12 psi of boost. Detonation is controlled by the water/methanol injection and is very reliable. I had the entire kit made by a guy who builds dragsters from the ground up. He has also promised to build some custom headers for my SEC. The stock US exhaust on the SEC's is just about the most restrictive exhaust I've ever seen. Even with the stock US exhaust, cats, and timing retarded by 10 degrees, before the methanol/water injection, the car put down 314 RWHP on a Dynojet chassis dyno and 365 lb-ft of tq. With the custom headers and water/methanol injection I hope to see north of 400 RWHP. To put this in perspective, on this particular dyno the new automatic 350 hp C5 Corvettes put down around 260 to 270 RWHP. I didn't feel too bad after my first dyno trip.

The car is a total blast to drive and always gets some funny looks and quite a few thumbs-up when the car nuts hear the blower whine. ATI Procharger's P1SC is rated up to 32 psi and 800+ hp so I have a few untapped ponies that I plan to add at a later date.

Well, the fact that you are on Mercedesshop so much is a good start! Now just spend more time here and she should be ready in say about a year.

Also, adequate fundage never hurts.

2004 AMG challengers (vs)
AMG W124 Hammer (vs)
Blown W124 500e500???

AMG W124 Hammer 6.0L:
0-60: 5.0sec
Top Speed: 185mph

Does anyone think that a blown 500e500 will match or exceed the Hammer's 6.0 performance?

interesting...

A blown 124.036 should have no trouble getting into the high 4's to 60 MPH, however, without a change in final drive, there's no way it'll get to 185 MPH...which of course will affect acceleration. Also remember, those beautiful wide fenders we all love add considerable drag...

High 4 second 0-60 should be easily attainable with a blower. According to the Gtech Pro, my times dropped from the 7 second range down to and average of 4.4 to 4.8 seconds. It is amazing what 12 psi of boost can do for your car!
